Pretty simple that it’s Buffalo that would have to add. Skinner has bigger negative value

If you thought the chance of getting ONE guy to waive his No Movement Clause was small . . .

That's just not true at all. https://www.radio.com/wgr550/sports/sabres/jeff-skinner-is-not-underperforming-he-is-underutilized
Vlasic is horrible Skinner is still good, with horrible puck luck, zero confidence, and an idiot as a head coach.

He really doesn't though. Younger with a better chance to bounce back. Vlasic has no value even without the big contract

If either player was still that good, we wouldn’t be talking about this ‘speculated’ trade. The most likely outcome is both continue to struggle and Vlasic would have less money attached to his deal.

Skinner might. But MEV, IDK.

"Hi Marc, just wanted to see if you're interested in waiving your NMC and moving to a team that's just as bad in a climate that's waaay worse. Whadaya say?"

Skinner would waive just to get away from Krueger. I just have a feeling the sabres are going to package Eichel and Skinner in a trade together. Jeff would play with Jack again, and score 30 goals everyone laughs at the sabres again.

'cause he'd rather play with Risto Ristolainen or Brandon Montour than Erik Karlsson or Brent Burns?

NOBODY willingly leaves California, even if it's San Jose.

read the article it will take 2 minutes. Jeff really isn't struggling at all. He's been extremely effective without scoring.

Then you haven't been following Vlasic very closely. He's also from Montreal, played for the Remparts, lives in Quebec during the summer. I don't think California weather is his thing. Not to mention the obvious signs he desires a change in scenery.

Also he doesn't even get to play with Karlsson or Burns anymore, he plays with the rookie Knyazev.

Skinner's 5 year's younger and the difference in cap is just 2 mil right? And the deal is for the same length? LOL is this a question...

Meanwhile, another Sabres fan publishes a post suggesting that Buffalo pick up Luke Schenn on waivers and bench Risto.

Well SJ does have a history of managing to keep players from leaving, usually its by giving them stupid contracts. *cough* Jones, Vlasic, Burns, Karlsson, Couture, Kane *cough*

Skinner has always been that player, and will always be that player.

In 59 games last season, plus 14 games this season, Skinner has just 14 goals. That comes after a 40-goal season that earned him an eight-year contract worth $9 million annually.

It is too simplistic and shortsighted to just look at the goal totals and declare that Skinner is not performing. I would argue that Skinner is overachieving, given the impossible situation Ralph Krueger has put him in.

In the 2019-20 season, Skinner's most common linemates were not an impressive group of offensive creators:

1.) Marcus Johansson (336:03)
2.) Conor Sheary (211:46)
3.) Evan Rodrigues (166:16)
4.) Vladimir Sobotka (160:54)

Despite playing almost entirely with a group of players that averages 36 points per-82 games combined in their careers, Skinner somehow managed to lead the Buffalo Sabres in goals per-60 minutes of ice-time at 5-on-5.

In the 2019-20 season at 5-on-5, Skinner had the most goals on the Sabres per-60 minutes of ice-time. More than Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, and Victor Olofsson.

Skinner produced with subpar help, but didn't get the proper amount of ice-time.

Fast forward to the 2020-21 season, and Krueger, once again, has put Skinner in an impossible position. From the start of the season, Skinner has skated with Curtis Lazar and Riley Sheahan, arguably, two of the worst offensive players on the team.

The difference this season is Skinner has not scored at all.

In fact, Skinner's rate of high-danger scoring chances per-60 minutes this season is actually higher than each of his first two years with the Sabres. This includes his 40-goal season back in the 2018-19 campaign.''Skinner ranks first on the Sabres per-60 minutes in penalties drawn, takeaways, rebounds created, and he has the third-most blocked shots among forwards.''

I meant to say he’s off the list, but he was really sick. He said in a Finnish interview that he thought he was going to die.
