Deadline shakeup

Team: 2020-21 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 23, 2021
Published: Feb. 23, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Avs NEED more from the bottom 6. But you cannot change the identity of the team, that's what makes guys compliment each other so well. By Adding someone like Silfverberg, you are creating the best defensive 3rd line in the league, but he also has consistently put up points. Nuke-Jost-Silf would be a match up nightmare for other teams, and would certainly be able to produce more than the bottom 6 currently is.

Interesting ideas.

Silf would be great for this team for sure, and a massive upgrade on Compher. I'm a little bit weary of his contract going beyond Mackinnon's deal when Silf will be 33 though. This trade might also preclude the Avs from resigning Saad.

Would also prefer to drop Helleson and the 2nd and just have it as Compher + 1st. But I suppose that wouldn't be enough.

NJD will hang onto Dell for at least a week or two.

Yeah I don't want to move Helleson. He has really taken a step forward this year.

Donskoi, Kaut, plus is something I could work with. And if the Ducks retain $2M and tbe Avs $1M then it helps with that extra year. Probably a tough sell there though.

I totally agree about being weary on the contract, that's something that would have to be considered heavily before making the move, I do not see Saad being re-signed regardless though. Just my opinion.

I think it really depends on how the season turns out overall, what kind of money Saad is looking for and if the Avs are able to shed at least the contracts of two of Donny, JTC and Graves via trade and/or expansion. Saad has to know he isn't worth $6M anymore but he could ask for $4-4.5 and probably get it in any number of places.

That's a big contract to take on for a long time. I can't see Joe being willing to do that. I do like the Dell pickup.
