Description
hopping on the leafs media bandwagon for forsberg...

in all seriousness this could be a great addition for the leafs. keep him for the next 2 years, then don't resign him unless he's stellar because at that point both robertson and amirov will be top 6 ready. or keep him, and at that point, JT becomes the 3C and nylander the 2C with forsberg and robertson.

Horrid trade for the Leafs, the Leafs actually get worse this season getting Forsburg, trading Kerfoot and forced to play Nylander at centre. Then the Leafs to trade all those futures too.shakes head

Forsberg doesn't get dealt to TOR, especially with that retention, without one of Sandin or Robertson going back the other way.

the leafs get better as they are able to make a push for the playoffs....

sure we lose 2 prospects and a 1st in a weak draft, but anderson & hallander in all likeliness wouldn't have ever cracked the top 6 on the future leafs

i hope that's a joke...
i know ur a nashville fan but realistically you're re-tooling
sandin or robertson for 1.5 years of forsberg is just stupid
and yes there is a possibility for a deal without one of those 2, many both nashville and maple leafs pages have said so

Hallander is likely to be a Leaf. He's doing well as a junior in the SHL. It's still an awful trade for this year. Sure Forsburg is good, top six, but it really hurt the Leafs not having a good 3C...which Kerfoot is.
Sorry, I don't know see the fascination with all these Preds forwards....especially for all these overpays that Leafs would have to do. Leafs forwards are doing well. Please Forsburg would miss 6 games with quarantine.

right but hirvonen, abrusezze, abramov, they're all replacements for hallander.
nylander isn't a good 3C? pretty sure he is, plus this gives them a great balance across 4 forward lines

Nylander is not a good 3C. Have him train over the summer to be one, but certainly you don't parachute him in the lineup now and hope he can be competent. Really why do the Leafs need another winger?

Lmao it's hilarious watching all these leafs fans overvalue their players. With Forsberg in the lineup, that 1st round pick is essentially being valued as a 2nd because of where this team should finish in the playoffs. So as an unbias person seeing this trade, its basically a 24th-31st overall pick, Kerfoot (an average 3rd line LW/C), Hallander who is a middle 6 forward at best in a few seasons, Anderson (may not even play multiple full seasons in the NHL), and a 4th round pick.

This for Forsberg who is 8-7-15 in 17gp on a terrible Nashville Predators team. Some scraps for a top 20 LW with 2.5mill retained (4.5Mill AAV) for this season and next. The salary retention has more value then I think you've considered. Sure Nashville adds a 6th round pick.

As an unbias hockey fan, I see this trade being at minimum 2021 1st round pick, Kerfoot, Robertson or Sandin, a mid-tier prospect, and a conditional 3rd in 2022 that becomes a 2nd round pick if the Leafs make the ECF this year or next. Maybe another condition where the Preds receive a 2023 pick if he resigns

I agree. 20+ teams would beat this offer in a second.

Note: you can't do conditional picks anymore.

You can still do conditional picks - it's just conditions based on a player re-signing that aren't allowed. Conditions based on player or team performance are still fine.

His scenario was based on re-signing. You can't do that.
