I'm sure Hall would be better as Pen than his one goal in fifteen games with Buffalo. I'm just so happy that it wasn't another Hall to Leafs trade.

Honestly that Buffalo trade is brutal for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

yeah i know he is like the only decent prospect for pittsburgh but if they want to give crosby and malkin another cup run they are gonna have to sacrifice the future because the team they have right now is not a contending team. As a pens fans, i am not ready for the years after the crosby and malkin era, its gonna be bad like its gonna be the same things that is happening to detroit right now after datsyuk and zetterberg left

I like the first two, I would reject the third. But there is no chance that either VAN or OTT will accept.

Hall doesn't help them win a cup, frankly, it's an overpay for a rental, they ain't doing it.

oh and the penguins aren't detroit. Detroit was stuck with aging players on bad contracts. The penguins won't have that issue. Malkin and Letang come back on short deals that are way more team friendly.

i don't agree with that maybe hall as decline a bit since his hart season but is still a very good player. If Hall can be like Kessel was for the Pittsburgh they are going to have a big chance for another cup

Hall isn't Kessel. And their top 6 isn't the problem. Their lack of a 3rd line, an injured defense, and bad goalie play is what has held this team back.
Two of those can self correct. But the 3rd one is a real issue that they need to find a reasonable answer for if they want to compete for a cup.

Hall isn't going to change any of that. Hell he can't even score with Jack what makes you think he'll be any better here.

I dont see this happening. Maybe the pens see their window open and only one winger away from competing, but I think they should hold onto their 1st and top prospect

That hall trade is brutal for pittsburgh, not only long term but short term too. If the pens don’t win the cup this year after that trade, might as well get Crosby, Malkin, and Letang to waive their trade clauses and blow everything up with the team cause you just destroyed our left wing for next year and the following 5 years minimum.

The Hall trade is all around brutal for everyone involved; it may actually make both teams worse as Hall would be better than Zucker in a vacuum but Zucker already has chemistry on Pittsburgh. Poulin is their top prospect but also unlikely to help the Sabres this year and who knows if he'll pan out. After all, prospects go to Buffalo and cease to be effective for unknown reasons. Its just a strange trade at the end of the day.
