seems like nothing is enough to get him according to most fans. at least the lineup looks pretty balanced

The harsh reality is a trade for Jack Eichel would be brutally painful for the team acquiring him because he is one of those franchise players that just does not get traded. When and if that happens the trade would be one of the biggest in franchise history for the Sabres. After being burned so badly in the Ryan O’Reilly deal, and the Hasek trade long before that, the Sabres could not afford to not win a trade involving Jack Eichel.

Buffalo won't win any trade involving Eichel. At least not in the sense people on Capfriendly think.

Any trade involving this player should only include elite prospects and ones just a tad below elite level and of course multiple first round picks. Maybe a second as well.

A proper rebuild post-Eichel is important because I I felt drafting aside from Eichel was terrible and cannot be repeated.

You aren’t wrong, but the Sabres are really not in an enviable position. Their fans are so sick of losing that if they do not qualify for the playoffs soon people will stop buying tickets. Pandemic hockey is a bit of a godsend for the Sabres in this regard because fans might not buy tickets right now anyway. A trade involving Eichel would have to include players that can play now, whether they are top end prospects or young roster talent. The NHL is a young man’s game now more than ever. An infusion of high end young talent that produces immediately and makes the team competitive would be the only thing the Sabres could be after.

For me it's not about winning the trade or getting quantity in return but to get three quality pieces in return and it has to start with a top center prospect so I would look at either LA or ANA.

I understand the the thought of wanting top tier player in return for Eichel but I want you to consider the current status of the team.

There's just not been enough young talent to support Eichel in elevating this team to the next level.

I know Sabres fans don't want to hear this but the best trade to be made is aquire elite prospects who have not yet made to to the NHL and also get multiple first and second round picks.

It's nice to have an Eichel type of player but as good as such players are, they need to be surrounded by other talented players as well.
