Honestly, the only guys that ever make the Leafs from the Oilers are McDavid, Draisaitl, and maybe Nurse. The rest of them can try to make the Marlies.

You may notice that OP was picking players to fit a 20 man roster under the cap . Although I know a lot of Leafs fans don't like thinking about the cap, so I understand the block on that concept for ya.

Also okay if you cut Nuge to send him to the Marlies over Ilya Mikheyev, Jimmy Vesey and co., I'm sure lots of teams would like the services of the 35th highest scoring player in the league since 2018-19.

I'm not saying I disagree with you on pure talent, Holl is great this season. But 2M is still more than $1,831,417, so your proposal doesn't solve anything. Close is only relevant in horseshoes and hand grenades, not the salary cap.

Also of course Holl over Barrie as far as his 2M value vs Barrie's value at 3.75M when trying to make a cap compliant team like this. But the convo we were having initially was concerning Holl directly replacing Bouch on he roster. Guess it's just hard to have any constructive conversation on these players when you contradict yourself and confuse what you're trying to get at. Ah well.
