Trading Couture is signaling the rebuild. Danault and Armia do nothing to help that. Sharks would probably want Kotkaniemi+.

Sharks won't want to retain salary on Couture.

Sharks take that value and run. Maybe not Armia, Sharks have so many depth wingers but Sharks take that so quick. Even if you include the two current NHL guys the Sharks trade them for more futures, and laugh they got a brutal contract off their books.

This 100%. But if retaining 1.5M means we get an extra first I wouldn't be opposed.

@RawZuccSauce420 As I mentioned above, Danault and Armia cld both be moved at the deadline. Most likely getting a 1st & 2nd for Phil and a 3/4th for Joel. So that would be 3 1sts, 2 2nds and a 3/4th for Logan. Seems like a decent way to start a rebuild to me.

We'd rather see KK coming the other way than Danault or Armia tbh. I like both of them, but for the Sharks to ship out Couture they would want some meaty return - especally at this point in time where Danault and Armia are both gonna become UFAs.

With that being said though, two firsts and a 2nd is really strong value for Couture so I imagine the Sharks would take this. Would personally rather see one of those first be a good prospect or young player instead though. But yeah I think you're overpaying personally. You can take away some of the value here if you hone in on what the Sharks need and quality > quantity.

Good point, agreed. Also did you just read my mind wtf?? You posted that before I responded entirely lmao

I would personally take that and run so fast I'd be a blur, but the hard part would be getting Cooch to waive his 3 team trade list and go to Montreal.

people really willing to give this up for couture and wouldn't give a third this package for monahan, who is younger, more productive, and on a much better deal 🙄

Couture's one of the best playoff producers in the league.
