Former- Peter Chiarelli. That Hall for Larsson could not have felt good to Hall for being traded for a much worsr player

Idt Dubas always gets fleeced... only once with the Kadri trade. Maybe add Jason Botterill.

Not on the list:

I mention him because of the strangest offseason given where they are really at...... Bill Guerin. Nothing in Minny made sense. Not fleeced, just spinning wheel. Weird and odd.

Poile's track record over the last few years isn't great either.

On the former option, I have two options.

Which trade was worse?

Hall for Larsson, or

Seguin+Peverley+Button for Eriksson+Smith+Fraser+Morrow

Either way, both trades were done by Peter Chiarelli. He's my first candidate.

The other is the one who made probably the worst trade in NHL history. The trade where New York Islanders traded Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen to Florida Panthers in exchange to Mark Parrish and Oleg Kvasha.

This same GM also decided it's a good idea to sign Alexei Yashin to a 10-year, $70+ million deal.

This guy was Mike Milbury. He's my second option.

Either Chiarelli or Milbury is the worst GM in NHL history.

As for the current GMs, I think Benning's the worst, closely followed by Dorion and Wilson. All these guys have either made very sh*t value trades as of late OR screwed their cap situations royally.

I think Gord Stellick's Courtnall for Kordic needs special mention here.

Habs with a god damn steal there.

Although it's hard to say could've Kordic made a comeback after his struggles, had he stayed alive.

They were GMs for like 3 years or so respectively. These fools I listed there were GMs for 10+ years.

Don't know how you can include Dubas on that list. He paid too much for his own RFAs...though that was a total management doing, he certainly has done OK with few trades and other signings.
Can't really blame Dorion for players that wanted to leave via UFA. We'll see how his drafts and what he does with his cap space.

Eberle for Strome for Spooner was even worse from Chiarelli than the hall trade.

Larsson could have easily turned out better i can defend that one. Eberle for spooner was a good trade but strome for spooner was ridiculous.

The sad thing is, that wasn't even his worst trade in Edmonton. The Reinhart trade was several orders of magnitude worse.

There's a long list of bad Chiarelli trades, but his worst in Edmonton was trading picks #16+33 for an AHL defenseman, Griffin Reinhart. With Larsson-Hall at least the Oilers got a useful player.

Yupp Barzal for reinhart. Barzal would have been huge they would be a goaltender away from a finished team right now.

Oh yeah, that as well.

Lmao how bad can one GM even be. No wonder no one is hiring the guy anymore.

Actually, he works for the St. Louis Blues as an advisor. He'll be back before you know it, billed as "misunderstood" in previous cities. tears of joy

I knew he worked in STL in some role, but I don't see him ever becoming a GM anymore.

It was a fleece job for the ages. Kordic was what he was. Definitely not worth an in his prime Courtnall.
