There's a bit of a quandary here. I believe Romanov is likely playing well. I also believe rookies can be developing REALLY well without scoring points. It's not that points are overrated...it's more so that Dmen especially need to play defense 1st and points 2nd in my mind. With that said, I'd personally bring Ian Mitchell Nicolas Beaudin into the mix if this is the case. Mitchell's been upgraded to the top pair and getting ~20 minutes a game the last few games. He will jump up this board in no time. Beaudin would likely be at the bottom of the list, but still make the list. ***I'm a Hawks fans...this is my bias...I'm aware!***
Kirill is definitely the Calder leader as of right now in my mind. If we're talking about this year alone without projecting into the future. I don't have Stutzle that high or even top 5....as of today. He's showing his elite talent FOR SURE, but he's also making a lot of (normal) rookie mistakes where a number of these other guys may not be showing the top end ceiling for the future that Stutzle 100% HAS...they're also not making as many mistakes so far this year. We'll see how that develops the rest of the year.
