Good Eichel offer. Sabres might consider that.

It depends on how Kakko does the rest of the season.

Kinda. 3 unprotected firsts from a team in disarray and just lost their best player for who knows how long is mighty tempting in its own right

my opinion is that this offer has one too many 1sts...
keep Strome and make him the 3C until he contract is up, i doubt Buffalo wants him.

It looks like he is doing ok right now but I agree.

Also, do the Sabres only have one power play line?

They have two but the first one usually scores pretty quickly. So they don’t get much playing time.

I only seen one power play line for Buffalo lol. But they always score which is unfortunate.

They like to hit the post at even strength. But they draw a lot of penalties which is strange why they keep scratching skinner because he draws the most penalties on the team.

Yeah I don't get why they scratch a guy that scored 40 goals. That first power play line is scary though. Blackwood was making so many saved and the Sabres hit the post like 5 times.

And of course the player they scratch skinner for Asplund scores. But yeah Blackwood is a really good goalie.

Ullmark is really good too, but he always destroys the Devils smh. That defensemen in his first game was pretty solid as well.

Seeing a lot of love for this... but I just don’t like it. I don’t care for 1st round picks bc with Eichel NYR are going to pick in the 20s all 3 years.

Strome isn’t great. I am VERY down on Kakko. He literally just had the worst rookie year of a top2 pick since the fancy stats started. I don’t know what his trajectory is

Just to touch on the cbj trade. Why would New York do this. Like ever. Yeah Mika is in a slump. So you trade him for a good third line guy in Jenner and tex who looks promising but would be lucky to be a 50-60 point guy. I love tex. He’s one of my favorite players but this is a slam dunk for cbj.
I’d love Mika but not this year With his contract being up next.

Mikas next contract is most likely going to be in the 7-9 Million range and I along with most Rangers fans think that Chytil could play second line center this year. So if you keep Zibanejad you would block Chytil. So send him to q team to that needs a first line center because in this idea the Rangers have Eichel and they would need to save cap space for players coming off ELCs

Makes sense in this context with eichel in ny now so I understand that but would you not want to grow the solid 1/2 punch with both? Trade the young guy who has promise but would be lucky to reach the level of Mika? Or is the consensus he will be better than Mika? I’ve liked his game but I don’t see that fringe first line/ real good second line center consistently enough.

I get what u mean but I do think Chytil has high end 2nd line center potential, just my personal opinion. Also if you keep Mika 3 of the players in your top 6 are 30 or close to it and I'd rather keep them as young as possible so its a good mix of veterans and youth that can contend for a longer period of time
