Boston declines. Zero need for Soernson and not worth more than a 3rd or 4th anyway.

I upped it to a second for dumping Moore's contract, but I can understand that.

Moore does not need to be dumped. One, they need him. Two, his buyout is cheap. They won’t pay to move him other than Seattle to protect others. Senyshyn finally showing some life. 3g in 5 games in the A. Seriously bad overpay by Boston for a mediocre bottom 6er.

Sharks could get probably a late 3rd or 4th for Nieto half retained. Sorensen is not the guy someone should be paying a 2nd for lol. Even if you're cap dumping Moore.

I think a 3rd is super optimistic, plus he doesn’t make anything so the retention isn’t that big a deal.

If the Sharks are selling (which they should), it's time to tear pieces down, Hertl and maybe Meier need to be moved for 1st round picks. I wouldn't be surprised if someone would want Burns with retention too.

What's the matter with Sorensen? He seemed like a very good defensive 4th liner just one season ago

Habs traded Kovalchuk half retained for a 3rd. Never said that the retention was a big deal on a league-min contract, but getting a fast, 2-way, penalty killing player for 350k is worth more than a 7th and a nobody - especially for a cash strapped team. Worth at least a 4th to me.

Nothing's wrong with him, I just don't think he's worth that. He can penalty kill and is responsible but his advanced metrics are poor both offensively and defensively. Maybe a change of scenery would reinvigorate his game, but the last season and a half he's been below replacement level.

avs traded a 4th rounder for Namestinkov who does all that and is a bigger offensive threat than Nieto....Avs are very much aware of what he is, hes a 4th liner. no one is giving s 3rd for a rental of a 4th liner/12th/13th foward.

With Logan O'Connor emerging, hes a younger version of Neito, a 3rd is just over valuing him. He is more of a 5th round pick type of return. Nate Thompson went for a 5th last deadline, Nick Cousins went for 5th. That is the world that Nieto lives in in terms of level of player and return

I came here to say exactly this. Just give us anything so we never have to see Dries in the NHL again haha

Honestly though, there's nothing wrong with him, he's just Bednar's guy whenever we have bottom 6 injuries and need a callup C. He's fine in that role tbh, but I'd much rather see Bowers given a shot.

Nieto would be a nice cheap add for the Avs at the deadline, but I'm not sure we need it. This trade is easily a yes though value wise.

I’d be good with a 4th
