Whats the context here? What is the hindsight based on? Because there was zero conversations of the Oilers moving Nuge for a deal like that 5 years ago.

I mean this was never a rumour, but:

RNH was coming off a weak season/playoffs. Sprong was still a good prospect at the time with a top 6 ceiling, Hagalin was a good 3rd liner, and Chirelli was GM.

                              Crazier things have happened.

The only easy decline that would’ve never happened was the marner deal.

Think you need to calm down, a couple clicks of the mouse and it's as if it never happened.

Do you guys think my armchair team would've completed the threepeat?

Honestly it'd be one of my dream teams, Well done my friend.

You aren't even close on Marner's value. The team probably could have completed the threepeat, but it's just unrealistic. Considering the package the Devils got for Hall, they would pass on the offer too. Oilers decline as well.

Although it depends on Murrays play

Yes I agree, murray has stunk since the second cup.

Idk about the cup, but they never would have gotten Marner with this offer

That Marner offer even back in 2017-18 is absolutely hilarious.

Probably but that doesn't get Marner.

The only easy decline that would’ve never happened was the marner deal.

Obviously it wouldn’t be enough for Marner today, but back in 2017, the Pens were coming off back to back cup with both Maatta & Cole playing top 4 minutes, plus only reaching their primes.

Marner was underwhelming in Toronto as Babcock disliked him & often put him on the fourth line.

Toronto could’ve had a defence of Maatta-Gardiner, Rielly-Cole & Given that they already had a number of elite forwards, I feel they could’ve made a trade like this.

Sprong was the Pens top forward prospect & Hagelin would’ve made a great winger for McDavid cuz of his speed & forechecking.

RNH struggled after the Oilers got Draisaitl cuz he had to play on the third line. He didn’t become the player that he is today until he got moved to LW
