Yzerman isn't moving his 2021 3rd round pick, he wants to acquire more picks not give them up. Bernier at $1,500,000 for a 2021 3rd round pick is probably the best we can do unless he gets red hot and wins a few more games then perhaps a late 2nd rounder.

Watching this bad team play well has been a lot of fun, but buying at the deadline would be a massive, massive mistake.

They haven't played a ton of games against the top dogs in their division yet and still get outplayed more often than not. We've got a long way to go before we're real contenders again, I'd rather build toward it with the pieces we have than try and force it now.

I think in this draft, its fine that our draft position is gonna take a hit. If anybody is gonna capitalize on a weird draft, it'll be Bowman and Kelley

Nashville should try to load up on picks in the 22 draft.

I know Bernier was interviewed this past summer on The Word from Woodward and said that he'd love to finish his career in Detroit. He and his family really love it there. I wouldn't mind resigning him again this off season after the expansion draft.

Not interested in moving Bernier and retaining half his salary just to move our 3rd up slightly a dozen or so spots in the draft.
