Projected Ducharme Lines

Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 24, 2021
Published: Feb. 24, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't know much about Ducharme's coaching style (I'd love for someone to give me a quick rundown) but I was able to see players he's coached in the past to assume players he may prefer.

Ducharme coached Mete in the 2018 WJC alongside Joel Bouchard (WJC GM) so he probably likes him. Ducharme played alongside Martin St. Louis at UVM so he probably respects smaller player's game.

He coached Drouin all through his junior career so I wouldn't be surprised if he got Drouin to show some of those skills he showed back in juniors. If he was able to awaken a beast back then he can definitely do it again.

I'm hoping he gives KK the 2nd line spot he deserves.

These lines are most definitely not 100% accurate but it would be fun to see.
I'm very excited to see the lines on Thursday, should be fun!

I was on Dom's staff 8 years ago and know him very well. He will not be able to change a whole lot with a game every second day.

But Mete does a ton of mistakes that for some reason most people do not see because they like his speed. On numerous plays this year he was bumped off the puck, pushed out of the way, Hyman of the leafs routinely overpowered him and took the puck away. Mete has a weak shot for the NHL level.

In the month of February the 4 centres have a combined 12 points, Jets four centres 24, Oilers 30 pts and Leafs 37 pts. So this 2nd line spot you think KK deserves, is an illusion. I like KK don't get me wrong but he still is only 20 years old and needs more seasoning.

So you'd see Montreal targeting a 2C with some of their wingers as trading chips?

Also, how do Ducharme's strategies differ from Julien's?

MTL has a decision to make and let me preface I like all 4 centres on the team, but 3 of them have little NHL experience. So they have to make the decision to they go get 2 veteran established Centres and if yes, then they must sacrifice really good prospects. Example to give up Patch to Vegas we got Suzuki. So other teams would ask for some of our better younger players. Or the team decides t build around our current centres and in 2 to 4 years they will be exceptionally good. Championships are won down the middle.

Dom, likes a more aggressive forecheck than Claude did. He also puts a lot of emphasis on a fast moving PP. Claude is a good coach and it is easy to dump mud on his face. It was time for a change.

Seems like a guy that like offence without compromizing defense. I think that he likes speedy player and individual skills, But I cant really tell more than.

Ducharme is the one who brought the offense we saw at the beginning of the year, but because we were allowing 3-4-5 goals, Julien decided to comeback and play defensively, which didn’t work and player didn’t liked it. That’s why he got fired (may things but that’s one). I like your line, I don’t like Armia that much but we need to keep Lehky-Evans-Byron together
