Well, I've seen much worse Reinhart trades.

I am unfamiliar with the prospects, but if Buffalo unable to come to a deal with Reinhart, this isn't terrible.

Holmstrom was our 1st round pick in 2019 whose admittedly not very impressive but he’s got some talent, but the better prospect in the trade is Iskakov, whose small, but has a boatload of talent. He’s been very good this year playing in Finland

If Reinhart signs at 7.5 x 7 then Buffalo will absolutely retain him so there's no trade to be had. The deal isn't terrible though...

This is really based on Reinhart requesting a trade, which I think is a lot more likely than Eichel requesting a trade tbh

Lol saw the title, thought about Griffin, and my old wounds reopened.

Sam makes sense though, and this trade seems sensible if Buf blows it up, and the isles want that scoring boost.

I disagree. We don't know how to value players properly.

I’d have no problem adding in Bellows but Wahlstrom is untouchable

I’m assuming they’d want one of our defensive prospects instead of leddy (who we dump elsewhere) cause they’d be signaling a full blown rebuild at this point

this what id like to see, just doubt lou has the creativity to make it happen.

On Arthur's athletic Q&A yesterday some fans were suggesting to trade beauvillier because lou/barry won't part with Bailey smh

I don’t think I’d mind Bailey getting traded too much, he’s pretty replaceable

I would trade Bailey for a bag of pucks, but I'll be livid if they traded our only top 6 winger under the age of 30 lol

sounds crazy but I would keep beau over sorokin . They shouldn't have to trade any of the 3 RFA because they can buyout/trade some players. but If it came down to it....

I have no doubt beau will be a top line winger - sorokin will be great, but we don't have trouble turning goaltenders into above avg contributors, wingers on the other hand...

with the way leddy has been playing lately they shouldn't have to buy him out. Very exciting game for Andy Greene tonight, he plays and his 2 mill bonus kicks in for next season! Thanks lou!

think of it as greene signing a 1 year 2 mill dollar extension with the islanders for next season but he won't be playing

lou wants to reward "his" guys even if it f*cks the team.

Thats why the toews trade made no sense. They could have signed him for 3.5 mill x 2. All they would have had to do is let Martin and green walk + waive johnston and his 1 mill dollar salary (which they refuse to do for some BS reason).

And there were much better options than greene in free agency who they could have signed for less than 1 mill. Greene is so bad...

honestly the pulock contract was his worst move IMO. Pulock had a Norris level season last year and this season he has played like a top 10 D in the league. He just gets overlooked by isles fans/MSM because he plays on a low event team, but he should have been signed for 4-8 years (cap hit would be between 6 -7 mill depending on term) . Now were going to have to pay him market value.

Pulock contract didn’t make me happy but the unnecessary trading of Toews was easily the worst for me and probably the worst move I’ve ever seen the team make (I’ve only been like a diehard fan since 2017.) There were so many ways around trading Toews it blows my mind

yeah its close, the fact that lou messed up on both is bizarre. A lot of fans still try to justify trading toews by saying we had to trade him, no other choice, pandemic screwed lou etc....This man literally overpayed Martin and greene with a flat cap when they had no leverage. It's a BS excuse. He could have signed toews, but he chose not to.
