Dunno - thats up to LAK and NYR fans.

Fox for Byfield?
Miller for Turcotte?
Lundkvist for Vilardi?
Schneider for JAD?
Jones for Madden?

I don't know matches best....but probably something that will upset both fanbases, but make both teams better.

I personally can't see a move being made there with those names. I think the only thing the Kings trade away a center for is a defenseman with Norris-potential to take over Drew, and I frankly don't see it in that list. Maybe Fox.... but I'm not putting my apples in that basket, and certainly not for any type of package with Byfield (regardless of who adds).

long contracts? what are you talking about?

Panarin, Trouba, Kreider. The Rangers are fine ok right now with their cap. Im trying to say in a couple of years when all of their young players are going to get paid, they will be in trouble

how many good teams are truly "comfortable" against the cap?

Before UFA window? All of them.

so using your theory, the Kings have an overrated future as well because they are paying DD and AK a combined $21 mil.

i don't think you have a clue what you are talking about?
take five minutes too look at the Ranger's long term outlook and let me know which season will be the start of their cap issues?

claiming the Panarin, Kreider and Trouba are going to buckle the Ranger's future is as short sighted as it gets.
you are also acting like the cap won't increase over the next 3-5 years.

should have figured as much debating with a Devil's fan...

Cap wouldn't increase much with Covid in the next 2 years. If you think you're so smart, I wanna see how you would sign Laf, Kaako, Fox, Shes.

You're just deflecting at this point. As you said before, the Rangers are getting out of their rebuild. The Rangers have less than $1 mil in cap space while the Kings have $14 Mil. The Kings are still rebuilding.

Im going to ask this again. How are the Rangers going to pay Kaako, Shes, Fox, Laf, Miller and more in the next 2-3 years with 28 mil going to panarin, trouba, and kreider for the next 6-7 years

Cap will most certainly increase over the next 3-5 years.
i'm not saying i'm smart, more logical than anything.
NHL GM's are smart, that's why they are in the position they are in...

i'm not sure what you think these guys are going to get pain on their next contracts - they are RFA's.
Point is getting $6.75M and Barzal is getting $7M on bridge deals right now, none of the Rangers are on their level yet, i think the team will be ok.

the same way every team in the NHL does it, it's really a simple concept - i'm failing to understand how you don't see this.
they will literally have $30 mil in cap space this offseason - how come you can't follow along?

Shes and Buch this year
Kaako, Zib, Fox next year
Laf Miller year after that
Plus more prospects coming uo

Their cap space is going to go away very quickly

The issue isn’t within next two years it’s on the year laf and Keandre become eligible for next contracts but bridge deals are likely gonna have to be given out to some, and by that point cap will rise also, and trouba and maybe even Kreider will be Gone by then

Cap would only raise 2 mil in the next 3 years since the NHL is still recovering from the loss of money during covid. I get all of them are RFA's but these guys have high potential and will get paid like it. Difference between Point and Barzal compared to the Rangers GM is that Tampa are great at giving good contracts (Sergachev, Cirelli, Cernak, Point, etc). Barzal waited it out until close to the start of the year for his deal. If all of these players develop, and knowing the Rangers management, they would be willing to throw money and term at those players

Both have NMC and I doubt they would waive it. I heard Trouba's wife is a nurse in NY and he wouldn't waive his NMC for anywhere far. And not many teams would even be interested in those players/contracts.

So basically this thread is just a Devil fan jealous of NRU future? I think that’s what I got out of it.

Basically. I think they have a good future, but they could very well ruin it with their decisions

i mean... the guy's not wrong... how many times have the New York Raners gotten in the New York Rangers way lol The way these guys think sometimes they'd bring Bobby Holik out of retirement for a 5yrx50mil contract and give Laf a bridge deal at 1.1 for a year

Well, I do have a clue. This ain't my first rodeo.
Also, I'm the one that said Rangers cap situation is not terrible.

Cap will be flat at best for next few years. League is in rough financial shape until they get the new TV deal.
I'm betting on flat $81.5m until 2022-23 season.
