If they moved on from Gio at this point, could the team wake up and realize the old guard is done?

no way in hell do the leafs consider this. they do not want a near 38 year old they dont even have room for, especially at that cost

I could see the want to move on from Gio. This trade, however, is a big ol' no from the Leafs, imo.

Actually from a Leafs point of view...if they think Giordiano can play to his contract for next 1.5 years, they consider it. The down part for the Leafs is that Leafs have "plenty" of LHD, Also the Leafs might have trade Nylander in the summer to get cap space. Nylander is an easier move than Giordano.

Nylander....the Calgary boy returns home.

My intention was to help the leafs add depth to their blue line as they are definitely contenders this year. With Muzzin currently injured and the retention of salary, I though Gio reuniting with Brodie on a 2nd pair would be of value to the Leafs, clearly that’s not the consensus, lol.
