Oh for f*ck's sake. We've been lacking in centers the whole year and our current 1C in Hintz have been fighting lower-body injuries the whole year. And then this happens.

If he's ok it's a bit of a miracle. That knee tear looks awkward as f*ck.

Thank god he seems to be ok though.

It's faint and quiet, but what you can hear in that video is pretty f*cking awkward for the whole league as a whole. I suggest you up your volume to hear it.

Yeah, I heard it, we kinda already knew this was happening but you DON’T SAY IT AS A REF

I think it’s safe to say Vasi is primed for a back to back cup - no goalie has outperformed Vasi from the list of other Vezina candidates.

12-0-0 record down this stretch of games with a .938 save percentage and 1.64 goals-against average. He's outperformed his expected goals against per 60 more than Fleury, Demko, Varma, Grubauer.

I think Vasi is gonna run away with the Vezina.

I still think Fleury is gonna win because of the fact he hasn’t won one yet

I disagree, Vasy has been the best, no question he’ll win it

Voters for awards seem to always lean towards a player who hasn’t won the award yet, especially w the Vezina and Norris. Vasy also probably should have won during the 2017-18 season, but they gave it to Rinne because he never won it before (neither has Vasy at that time but he was a lot younger)

We all knew this was coming after his comment, after all they have to show they somewhat care about fairness

Apparently he was gonna retire after this year anyway, so I wonder what would’ve happened if it was someone else

I predicted Fleury to win and still want HIM to win it - as it would be great to see him get one.

But idk if Vasi is gonna be denied if he breaks the 14 game record. Guys been basically unbeatable.

It’s a step in the right direction but at this’s point the NHL needs a reffing overhaul and they’ll probably never do it

Other Sharks fans (and others obviously) can weigh in ( RawZuccSauce420 jfrojelin papishark )

With just about 20 days left before the TDL, the Sharks have a remaining 10 games left before the the TDL.

Coach Boughner said the Sharks have two paths down the stretch of this season
"one you don't even want to think about" (although myself and many sharks fans DO want to think about rebuilding grimace )
or the other being "fighting" to stay alive. Whether you or I think the Sharks should rebuild does not matter for the coming summary (I for one as some users know, want a rebuild).

My assumption would be in the next 10 games here's what we can expect to happen:

LA
ARI
ARI (back to back)
MIN
MIN
LA
LA (back to back)
ANA
LA
LA (back to back)

The Sharks find themselves honestly in a place of "catching a break". They aren't drawing VGK anymore, and we don't see STL or COL either.
Obviously we aren't slapping around those teams or any teams really; but the Sharks really catch a good break for their hopes of "playoffs".

Breaking down the Sharks schedule comes down to:

LA = lets say win : 2pts
ARI x 2 games (B2B) = lets say split (OTL) : 3pts
MIN x 2 games = lets say 0-2 : 0pts
LA x 2 games (B2B) = lets say split (OTL) : 3pts
ANA = 2pts
LA x 2 games (B2B) = lets say split : 2pts

5-3-2 = 12 pts gained = 40pts after 40 games (17-17-6)

To make it more plain simple: MIN has 39 points with 30gp, and STL 37 with 32gp.
I gave a generous record for this coming 10, 5-3-2, and the Sharks don't really gain any space at all. Without doing any actual long math/ calculations of the other teams, the Sharks gain no real ground even with a decent 5-3-2 record. Once again; without even summing up other teams gains and records for the same time period - the Sharks gain no real traction with an effective 5-3-2 record. Quite literally - the Sharks must either:

Demolish this coming 10 games (seeing a record of 7-3, 8-2 or 6-1-3 etc; all of which are unlikely, though a 6-1-3/ 6-0-4 could be plausible)
or
Demolish their playoff hopes once and for all.

I doubt we see major trades in either situation (failure or success) but since the Sharks chose to keep fighting - they must also accept defeat if they fail, management must accept defeat. Sell if we fail, buy some cheap help if we do succeed (already confirmed 1sts and top prospects aren't being moved).

I more so see this as a chance to inflate the trade value of Nieto, Dubnyk, etc

NHL going to ensure this never happens again, by reminding refs to make sure their mics are off.

This firing is strictly a PR move. What a joke.

I agree, the NHL needs to do more about reffing but never will

If I said it before, I'll say it again, referees need actual accountability.

So the Buffalo Sabres just lost their 15th game in a row. This brings them into a tie for 4th place in the longest losing streaks in NHL history, and 3 games behind the record. They’re behind only the expansion Washington Capitals and San Jose Sharks, and the 03-04 Penguins. The Capitals got the 1st overall pick that would end up being Mel Bridgman, the Sharks got the 2nd overall pick that would end up as Chris Pronger, and the Penguins got Evgeni Malkin (2nd, 04) and Sidney Crosby (1st, 05).

The sad part is, none of the teams you mentioned really had bright spots. The sabres have Eichel, Hall, Dahlin, Reinhart

Winnipeg Jets vs Vancouver Canucks

Man whoever the two guys who did the commentary on that game, both the play by play and the commentary, were awful. They left so much time on the air where nothing was said and nothing was heard.

Are you talking about the Jets broadcast (TSN) or the Canucks broadcast (Sportsnet)?

Lol. What is he even doing? Is he watching a video, or does he just hold his phone weirdly?
