Knyzhov might be the most intriguing development for the Sharks.

He’s not only gotten better as the years gone by, but he’s gone from zero responsibility->basically top pair responsibilities in that same time and he’s literally came out of no where. He was on no ones radar. Tonight’s game isn’t even over but he’s my First Star and he’s been stellar in both ends, with his first NHL goal obviously helping that.

There were at least 2 ejections last night, Mackinnon for tossing Connor Garland’s helmet back to him and Chandler Stephenson for elbowing Bjornfot in the face kind of like the McDavid-Kk elbow except Bjornfot was beside the boards, if Stephenson gets a suspension but McDavid only gets a fine, the DoPS will prove again that they suck for the 1000000th time

Interesting fact.

Joonas Donskoi is topping the league in 5v5 total points per 60 minutes on ice (out of players with 200 mins+ in ice time).

He's scoring 3.38 points per 60 minutes he spends on ice.

For the sake of comparison, McDavid is second with 3.27 total points per 60 minutes. Difference being that Edmonton has used McDavid over 200 minutes more than what Avs use Donskoi for, followed by Stone, Kaprizov and Rantanen. These are the only players who score over 3 points per 60 minutes the play in 5v5 hockey.

Donskoi has become a very effective player on his own right.
