Instead of just saying "no from Dallas", I'll elaborate a bit more. You're actually not too far off. This deal doesn't get it done, but Legare is a solid start. Given the fact that it's likely to be a bottom-10 pick, the Stars would also need Pittsburgh's 1st thrown in to the deal. A 1st + Legare may seem like a bit much, but given the fact that Legare is a prospect (some uncertainty around any prospect), Gurianov is a young, established sniper at the NHL level, and Dallas has no reason to trade him, any team is going to have to overpay for Dallas to consider a Gurianov trade.

Now let me tell you why this trade doesn't work even at the value Dallas would want; their team is built to win now & in the very short term. With massive contracts like Benn & Seguin on the books and one of the oldest rosters in the NHL, they aren't in a stage where they can really "wait" for Legare to contribute to their roster. Gurianov is already a top-6, contributing forward for the team that made it to the Cup last season. Dallas needs to win over the next 2 seasons, and Gurianov is already helping them do that, while Legare (while a solid prospect) wouldn't be able to help them compete for a Cup in the very-near future.

That is way better than just saying no. There's not enough of this on here. Well done.

Good analysis of why the Stars' best young forward is not getting traded, while they have so many old forwards earning so much money.

I'm not even sure the above gets Radulov.

Unless it's a borderline troll post, I'm typically not a fan of the "(insert team here) says no" post. I enjoy being able to discuss potential trades with other people who are going to have more knowledge on their respective team than I will.

There really isn't a circumstance that I see Dallas trading any of their young pieces like Gurianov or Hintz. Both help the team compete now & in the case of a rebuild, both are young enough to contribute for a long time to come.
