Instead of just saying "no from Dallas", I'll elaborate a bit more. You're actually not too far off. This deal doesn't get it done, but Legare is a solid start. Given the fact that it's likely to be a bottom-10 pick, the Stars would also need Pittsburgh's 1st thrown in to the deal. A 1st + Legare may seem like a bit much, but given the fact that Legare is a prospect (some uncertainty around any prospect), Gurianov is a young, established sniper at the NHL level, and Dallas has no reason to trade him, any team is going to have to overpay for Dallas to consider a Gurianov trade.
Now let me tell you why this trade doesn't work even at the value Dallas would want; their team is built to win now & in the very short term. With massive contracts like Benn & Seguin on the books and one of the oldest rosters in the NHL, they aren't in a stage where they can really "wait" for Legare to contribute to their roster. Gurianov is already a top-6, contributing forward for the team that made it to the Cup last season. Dallas needs to win over the next 2 seasons, and Gurianov is already helping them do that, while Legare (while a solid prospect) wouldn't be able to help them compete for a Cup in the very-near future.
