No pressure. You’ll be on draisaitl wing for a playoff run.

This kid is good though. He’ll bring nice size and speed

Watched a few Wisconsin games this year and think Holloway would benefit from another year in NCAA.

That top 6, plus a defense core of Broberg, Bear and Bouchard, is a serious contender for the next 5 years.

He has looked really good but most of his points have been in the back half of games when Wisconsin has had a lead, also hasn't faced other teams top talent as most of thier focus is on Caufield. Its also a bunch of pressure to throw on a kid that can easily just stay in school for another year, get stronger, faster and develop to a level where he probably can come in comfortably in EDmontons top 6 instead of being moved down the lineup if he isnt ready.

I’m not sure that’s a bad contract when he’s in the line up he does a lot of little things very well and doesn’t make stupid mistakes would be a positive depth rental for someone lacking depth and pp help.

Holloway will benefit from the extra year of college, as Caufield did, and then make an impact right away.

Cannot sign a player and keep them in NCAA. Once they sign, they give up their student-athlete eligibility.

(for this year, there is an exemption allowing NCAA players to play a year of USHL and then return to NCAA and not lose a year, but that wouldn't include a pro contract).

It’s possible but those two are very different. Caufield is small and mtl wanted him to work on his 2-way game and be more complete. Holloway could maybe use another year but he doesn’t have the same issues as cc. He’s big, fast and skilled. He’s more of a jump to the pros at this time than cc

I'd put him on McDavid's line, I think his size, strength and puck protection skills would be perfect there. And that reunites the DYNamite line... smile

Savoie I'd leave in the NCAA for at least 1 more year, re-evaluating annually. He's good but fairly one-dimensional. Amazing shot, I like to compare him to Cole Caufield.

    Draft+1
    Caufield: 0.53 G/GP / 1.00 P/GP
    Savoie: 0.55 G/GP / 0.80 P/GP

The NCAA season isn't over yet, so we'll see. Four games to go...

Two things: Holloway is already in his sophomore year, and he's already better than Caufield. Savoie is a comp for Caufield, not Holloway.

Yup, he's a pending UFA, that's not a bad contract at all. I don't see the Oilers selling at the deadline anyhow, all the pending UFA's will stay on the roster. (Detroit won't be renting players anyhow, they aren't going to make the playoffs.)

Holloway is by far the better player, he impacts every aspect of the game. He's physically imposing, he's better defensively and he's outscoring Caufield too.

Again second line compared to first. Holloway is racking up the assists while facing weaker competition. Yes he’s been fantastic but has not been better

Do you really think Caufield is being hard-matched against opponents' best players? If so, I have the perfect water-front property in Arizona for you!

Holloway will be in camp next fall don't waste a year of his ELCto throw him into the playoffs when he's 19 and not totally physically mature.

Savoie I think has to do 1 more year US colleges usually make them commit two years i think.
