Caufield. More potential. But they are both good prospects

Caufield only because I'd love to see a Kempe Byfield Caufield line and have Caufield and Kaliyev on the same PP like the WJC.

Btw Montreal, let's make a deal?

Both are different players. You arent going to get the same energy from caufield that you get from Holloway on a nightly basis, but you arent going to get the elite shot from holloway that you get from caufield.
Caufield : Elite shot, better hands (recent development IMO)
Holloway : Speed, energy, competitiveness, good hands but sometimes he's goin too fast, gets back into the play on defense sooner and causes more turnovers.

The qualities look like its a blowout, but man, Caufield has a shot that blows any of Holloways traits out of the water. That's why its so tough for me.

Tough comparison. Holloway in my opinion has more dimensions to his game however feel caufields goal scoring ability will better translate to the nhl. I wouldn’t say one is better than the other just different both with significant upside.

At this point I'm taking Holloway. Caufield definitely has a higher offensive ceiling, but Holloway will be a 2-way beast.

I choose option Boldy....

That's a thing right? Yes, let's go with that.

Boldy for me!

Draft+1
Holloway: 0.50 G/GP and 1.81 P/GP, 6'1 / 203
Caufield: 0.53 G/GP and 1.00 P/GP, 5'7 / 165

Holloway is producing FAR more in his draft+1, and he won't struggle physically with the transition to the NHL. He's also an elite skater and he's better defensively. He's a BEAST at 19 among 22-year-olds, he'll be a BEAST in the NHL for a long time yet. If the Oilers play him in the middle they'll have the best 1-2-3 punch in the original 6 era.

Caufield is the better NCAA player. I think Holloway is built better for pro hockey. I don't think either will become elite offensive players at the NHL level. Also Holloway is going to spend a good chunk of his career as McDavid’s workhorse, which will be great for his career.

Simply put for me:

Caufield has more potential to become elite

Holloway has more potential to be the better player/ career

Really depends on your team’s situation. Holloway will be a good nhl player for his career imo but Caufield will either be a boom or “bust” (not nail yak level bust but you get what I’m saying). No need to rush either but ones definitely safer imo.
If you need goal scoring you’d take the gamble on Caufield I’d assume but if you want the better player I’d take Holloway just cause I’d like his odds more.

He's not on the same team. With Caufield and Holloway you can get a direct comparison any time you watch the Badgers. Newhook (if he hadn't missed so many games) and Boldy would be an option for a similar poll.

but they are the same age...

Freshman: CC- 19G 17A 36P 36GP... DH- 8G 9A 17P 35GP
Sophmore: CC- 19G 18A 37P 24GP... DH- 8G 21A 29P 16GP

I would take either in my organization

I was merely being tongue in cheek, and putting some humor into the thread. It wasn't anything serious.

Although I do actually prefer Boldy over either of those those two, but it all comes down to personal preference. Boldy is more or less a better version of Holloway so there is room for interpretation.

I prefer Boldy for the future too.

I'll take Caufield for the college game though, his shot is just unfair to college goalies.

Caufield is 20 and was drafted in 2019
Holloway is 19 and was drafted in 2020

Sure, but they aren't the same age as you stated. Different draft years too.

if Holloway is born 1 week earlier, they are in the same draft, so Holloway should be producing more in his D+1

If Caufield was born 1 week earlier, he'd be in a different year. I can play this game all day.
