Description

This trade gives the leafs an upgrade at wing, and defense. They lose term, however, which is why this deal puts them in "win now" mode. Also it gives a little more grit to the bottom pair. Makes this team better now.

Remember Forsberg's contract expires in 2022 (as does Boroweiki's, not to mention Grandlunds in 2021).

Value aside, do you really think Dubas would trade 3 roster players and wait two and a half weeks for those players to clear quarantine. IMO Nylander is going nowhere but if they ever did trade him it would be in offseason. Not to mention the Leafs wouldn’t have the required players to expose in the expansion draft. Again, there is just a lot wrong here.

I agree Nylander is not going anywhere, but if he were to be traded, I could see this offer intriguing Dubas.

Where did you get that? He's one of the 4 defenseman protected (MR), and Forsberg's deal expires the same year, so you have the choice of Forsberg and Rielly, which would almost certainly be Rielly.
