the cost of an upcoming UFA in Montour in this climate to a contending team at 50% retention is a 2nd round pick. No-one is giving Buffalo a 1st plus 2 players least of from Vancouver.
But I can offer Buffalo, Edler at 50% for Mittlestade, Jokiharju and a 2021 1st. This would be a similar proposal to yours.

Edler is not waiving first of all, especially for Buffalo.

I know that! Edler isn't going anywhere from Vancouver nor would I like to see him play for another team.

The more this season goes, the more likely it is that Dallas is not a buyer at the deadline. Even if they were, the Stars don't have any cap room to play with once Bishop/Seguin come back over the next month or two. Hall is not going to Dallas.

Even with Hall, it's doubtful the Stars pass the Lightning, Panthers, Hurricanes, or Chicago/Columbus to make the postseason. If Hall as a rental isn't going to make the Stars a Cup contender, they aren't giving up Robertson & a 1st for him....even if they could afford him
