Reversing Saad trade

Created by: Beetlejuice
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 25, 2021
Published: Feb. 25, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hawks need a RW and now the B-line doesn't have room for Beaudin, Zadorov has been inconsistent, while Saad has been playing good for Colorado. I think this is one of Stan Bowman's worse trades in awhile

Are you factoring in the three people on LTIR since that trade?

100% this. the offence looks a lot different with Toews, Dach, and Nylander in the mix.

Agree with these two 100%. Not only that but Beaudin wasn't supposed to make the team nor have an impact this year. Now, let it be known that the trade was a bad one for sure regardless of LTIR, etc.

Ok even before the Saad trade and I said and predicted Beaudin would/should make the team and I thought he would add an offensive threat to the hawks b-line, I had high hopes for Beaudin and other fans wanted Kalynuk or Carlsson to play over Beaudin, So before the trade I expected the b-line to looks like this
Keith-Boqvist/Mitchell
de Haan-Mitchell/Boqvist
Beaudin-Murphy

So I probably needs to take my lumps here, but I did not think Beaudin, Mitchell, AND Boqvist would all be ready yet. I'm happy with how they're playing. With that said...and forgive me I can't help myself...maybe the reason they're all playing well is BECAUSE they have (4) veteran Dmen that can roll each game. If one of them needs to rest (DeHaan has injuries, Murphy needs recovery days, Keith is older) there's someone else to help mentor each young gun. I am really excited for their future. I just want to be EXTRA careful with their development. I'm not upset at the Zadarov trade. The Hawks had an almost historic bad defense last year. To suggest two rookies coming in and solving the problem didn't seem realistic.

They still have a piss poor defense. But it’s definitely better. They already have two shutouts. Btw as I’m sure you’ve seen Beaudin is now in Rockford getting ice time. As much as I was him on the big club and playing, there’s no rush and he can only get better by playing 20+ in AHL.

I’m no NHL scout but I prefer Beaudin to Boqvist at this point. I’d send Boqvist down and get him more seasoning. But maybe I’m missing something.
