Hardly all in. Trading three regulars for Forsberg just weakens the Leafs this year and in the future. No team is going to offer that much, so why do the Leafs have to pay a 50% premium.

NSH isn't going to be interested in giving up Forsberg with retention, for any of those players.

Flames wouldn't nearly that much for Gaudreau....which is the same term as Forsberg. No reason for the the Leafs or any team would weaken their lineup by subtraction three regulars, and all those future too.

A nashville fan told me if Dubas wanted Forsberg with 50% retention (makes sense as we cant afford him over 3mill easily) Robertson + Liligren and a 2022 1st (apparently nobody wants to draft in 2021) would be the starting point. Makes sense as Robertson as a 2nd round pick proved very quickly he was NHL ready and Liligren still has enormous potential.

One trade I made was Robertson + Liligren + Kerfoot (money out) + 2022 1st (Nashville gets 2 good prospects) a useful player in Kerfoot, and a high (ish) draft pick. Leafs get a year and a half of Forsberg at 3mill. If necessary Hallinder can be added to make the 50% retention fair. Its a gamble but Forsberg would be worth it as he is an excellent player at both ends, has played with Nylander before, and could be what Tavares needs to get going again

Hall got 3 okay prospects with one having good potential, a 1st and a conditional 3rd. In my case I replaced the 3 okay prospects and the third pick with 2 good prospects, a 3c/top 6 LW with NHL experience and kept the 1st.
