Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Gardiner, Jake
Additional Details:
Gardiner is a third pairing defenseman so 4M is kind of a Cap dump. He may be claimed by Seattle but they also could end up with Haydn Fleruy. We get a defensively responsible defenseman and a penalty Killer.
CAR
  1. Beagle, Jay ($1,500,000 retained)
  2. Chatfield, Jalen
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
They take half of Beagle's contract and get a penalty Killer. They get Chatfield who is young and Can replace Gardiner. 2nd round pick to seal the deal.
2.
NYR
  1. Gaudette, Adam [RFA Rights]
  2. Myers, Tyler

These two trades are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Carolina laughs, says thank you, and accepts. The rangers laugh, ask you to never call again, and hang up.

Carolina only accepts because Gardiner won’t be protected. I don’t think you realize how good he’s been this season.

You know Gardiner’s CF% and xGF% last season and this season are actually pretty good right? He’s actually been pretty far from trash lately.

That kind of term for Pearson is little concerning. I would be talking to Buffalo about one of their RHD. They would be cheaper.

Congrats on the dozen good games. I’m going to put more weight in the several hundred that were horrible.

I think I’ve gotten to see gardiner get exposed in five straight playoffs now
