Don't you think if we do the re-build, we're back to taking on bad money contracts and getting positive assets in return? Olofsson's a one-trick pony and if any other 31 NHL team's want to give him his next contract, they can have at it.

I believe the Kings will only be willing to trade one of Turcotte, Byfield, Vilardi. They will add to that package but only one of their top 3 center prospects can be moved, they basically want the future 1-2-3 punch you have above once Kopitar leaves. I believe in 4-years (kopi's contract is up), Blake would prefer the cap ramifications and lineup of Byfield, Turcotte, VIlardi, X player to Eichel, Turcotte, X player, X player.

Los Angeles has an easy pass. As my esteemed colleague @tryger says, we'd only trade one of Byfield, Turcotte and Vilardi. Add another center prospect like Anderson-Dolan, Madden or Thomas, a forward prospect like Kaliyev or a defense prospect like Clague, a current roster player like Wagner and the 2021 first and we'd have a deal.

Then Blake can afford to stay pat, they don't need this trade as much as other teams might, they are currently in a playoff spot have a legit #1 center in Kopitar, and 3 potential heirs in their prospect pool that they are slowly developing. I could see Blake offering: Byfield, 2-1sts, Thomas, and Kupari, I wouldn't be surprised if another team beat it but giving up two of Byfield, Turcotte, and Vilardi stops the chance of a team that could realistically roll 4 strong lines over a 1-2 punch.

Then it's not gonna happen unless that's all you want.

I think if anyone goes hard on Eichel it's gonna be Montreal, or maybe the wild.

Agreed on the Wild, maybe Montreal but they will need both need to shed alot of space to make it work. If they need short-term cap relief for picks/prospects the Kings, Sens and Red Wings phone lines will be open.

Montreal has less than $300,000 in cap space right now. How are they going to do that? You would be foolish to take Carey Price, who has an NMC, on the way back and who else are they going to give you? Shea Weber?

Minnesota doesn't have the prospects unless they empty the cupboard -- they're not giving you Kirill Kaprizov.

I think this is pretty close. I think LA has an advantage over many teams because they have good center prospects to send back. The sabres last night had curtis lazar centering line 1, as eichel was a late scratch. Certainly you wouldnt ONLY insist that the center be the main piece over a winger or a d, but its gotta at least be a consideration.

VAN decline, they don't have the cap space.
