Deadline

Created by: Marcsnack
Team: 2020-21 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 26, 2021
Published: Feb. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Forsberg: If this team commits to selling, this is the time you move him. A team acquiring him for 2 playoff runs will maximize your return. Tough pill to swallow, but you do it.
Jarnkrok: Similar to the Goodrow deal. Nashville retains and gets a good return.

Some of these 2021 firsts need to try and be 2022. Much deeper forward class. Get as many chances you can for a guy like Shane Wright.

Im sure Nashville would love that. Teams are probably much more comfortable giving up the 2021 pick, knowing where they are in the standings. Always a high risk moving future 1sts.

That's a steep price to pay for a guy we probably won't be able to extend bc of barkov

You have him for 2 playoff runs and it helps convince Barkov to want to stay. Also, a lot of guys will be coming off the books in 2 seasons: Stralman, Nutivaara, Vatrano, Acciari. There is some extra cap there to work with if anything.

Thats abt 24.3 mil coming off the books total...
That would be enough to sign the two, but I'm not so sure the implications it will have on our future if we sign a bunch of guys to big contracts

Not a fan of Pens trade.

I`d rather do the Leafs one and give up Sceviour or Janko in that one.

I am sure you would. All these Pens fans love giving away all our future assets haha. Granlund as a rental would be nice, but then after this season, he is gone. At least with the 2 depth forwards, you keep them and you do not give up as much future pieces.

Assuming that Chiarot is just in there for cap reasons, you can take him out and the habs will accept.

Not a fan of it for NSH either. I'd be looking for slightly higher picks, without taking back a lot of players NSH wouldn't have interest in.

Habs cannot afford to make a deal then. Someone needs to be going the other way for cap.

Rocco for a 3rd and Cousins for Riikola + 5th seems like pretty fair deals to me.

Both players are expendable, but I'm content if NSH holds onto them. I guess a 3rd for either would be fine. I don't want Riikola.

We’ll have enough deadline cap space to take on Ekholm’s full salary without sending any back. How many times do I have to keep saying this?

Yeah you are right! Next year might be a little bit of an issue, but should be fine considering Seattle probably takes Allen.
