The Sharks 3 Paths - PT2 - lets get some movement

Created by: yikes
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 24, 2021
Published: Feb. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Indifferent to this option - the team tries to stay competitive but makes major changes while moving money out. And there’s room to sell for 2022 if needed with some players (new and old) to move.

Even if burns isn’t moved it doesn’t really affect this option much

Wilson would sign a 3rd pairing D to a 4 mil contract before he ever sees the day the Sharks have that much cap. Honestly I think this is the worst option. We make ourselves even more similar to the Wild. In option one, the team is so outright bad that we'd tank and get high picks. This one middles between the extremes ineffectively.

Option one I think we kinda just stay in our current situation although Hertl moving to win could help and we get Georgiev but I dislike option one the most imo. Option 2 here we have a stealer 3rd line and depth overall imo. Our wings definitely need help but that’s what the 6m is there for if the team showed signs of life since our depth is so strong. And we can sell if needed but yeah I do agree we’d need help on the second line to succeed.

Yeah but the second line is about as good as the third line is the issue.

Yeah as I said we’d spend the 6. Worse comes to worse we find a way to keep Donato or not move Labanc. But couldn’t fill hole in the post comfortably as

          https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/2021/forward/ufa/

The ufa class sucks really so it’s to hard to find a guy who fits right for “free”

I do like the chance at Georgiev so that’s why I had to move Labanc if NYR accept a move around Seattle expansion
