Not even regarding the values or who says no; this simply does not make sense the sharks so they decline. They aren’t winning with or without this move and so they gain good players yes but older and slowly declining (not flaming Malkin, I love him).

They’d just use Hertl or Meier as selling points if they rebuild which they can’t if they make this move.

San Jose is a old team, so I would think they are trying to get younger, so I don’t think they would trade Meier, and Hertl because they are two younger guys.

Sharks easily decline,
We should be headed for a full on rebuild except he have to lie about it with all these huge contracts on the books.
Meir and Hertl are our best potential to bring back talented prospects and top picks so I feel the sharks would go in a much different route.
Value is there absolutely but in this scenario we are looking younger not older
