Mostly just basing this off of this team. Taking a look at how it could shake out in 2021.

Andersson trade is more out there and I know Flames fans aren't in any rush to trade him, which I get. I think he's a really impressive defenseman who could compliment NJ greatly. Tough to give up Shaq but I think Smith's emergence as a #1LD along with Bahl and/or Ohyokgutnfnh coming up means there's only really going to be one spot open on left defense, likely in a bottom pair role. With Andersson, along with Severson and Walsh the right side can be really good and young for years to come.

Flames fans I know the return is kind of a weird mix between win-now pieces and futures. Honestly I have a tough time getting a read of the Flames direction. Tried to blend it so they could go a couple of different directions. If they want to win now play Gusev top 6 and re-sign him. If they tear it down and want to flip him he should net around a 2nd or a solid prospect at the deadline. Sharangovich is young and raw but has also proven he's ready to play at NHL level right now. Mukhamadullin is 18, a 1st round pick, and was playing realllly well in the KHL this year before he got hurt. Probably our biggest boom or bust prospect. He has top pair elite potential but he's also really really raw and could fall flat.

Doubt the Flames accept but I like the idea. Maybe instead, try to trade for a LHD that could be in our future top 4. I see Bahl as a top 6 guy, not a top 4 due to his size.

That's a really aggressive offer for Andersson (who I like a lot)

I'd think either of these would work on their own...
- Mukhamadullin + Gusev + 1st pick
- Sharangovich + 2nd pick

But am thinking, nyet, to the whole package above

It's not the worst effort but I think the devils are not getting Chariot for a 3rd and an expensive guy who can't crack the line up without injury although he did play well in limited games. Also we need to clear the logjam at LD and maybe get Bahl some minutes. Devils have center depth and forward depth and although I love uncle Rico I don't see a role for him on this team. The razz deal makes no sense for both sides. Calgary isn't trading away a 24 year old defenseman on a very team friendly contract and the Devils need to see what they have in Shaq as he has a very high ceiling and is very young. In a Covid year where scouts are struggling to do their jobs 2nd round picks are going to be worthless. It's always dart throws but this year it's dart throws while blindfolded and drunk and that's why my brother is missing an eye.
