3 1sts and Finley for Coleman is not a bad deal. That won't happen, but I'm never going to forgive them for forcing our hand to get Nolan in the Coleman trade.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Johnson after the season. Seattle makes sense as a hometown team, but neither player nor team have expressed interest yet, and there was said to be 3 teams interested in him before the salary cap became flat. I'm just trying to use what we paid Vegas to take Jason Garrison as a starting point.

No sizeable salary can come back in the Johnson trade since I'd assume moving Killorn AND Palat, instead of just one of them, is not an option GMJBB would consider. The move will probably be just pay and arm and leg to have him taken cleanly off our hands.

Absolutely, and he'll hopefully be part of another deep cup run this season, but it would have been cool to see Nolan and Cal play together.

Gaudette won't be too expensive given the year he's having, definitely under 2M for 2 years.

Even if he comes in cheap, I'm not sure Tampa can afford to retain. After getting Volkov, Barre-Boulet, Foote, a bottom 6 forward instead of N. Foote, and a budget goalie on team friendly terms, we can only barely make a 21 player roster work with a little extra in case of injury issues.

Is Sergachev, Cernak, Raddysh, or Cal Foote available for a trade in the offseason if Nolan Foote++ is going to Tampa Bay?

At that point you'll have to move another player, no other choice. Killorn or Palat or whoever would also have to move.

Nolan Foote isn't coming back to Tampa on his ELC, just made an ACGM for next year (Killorn and Johnson moved) and threw in an overpay for Nolan. I'd make Raddysh available at the right price though.

Yep, which is why no salary will be retained or brought back in a Johnson trade. Just a lot of assets going 1-way.

Ok because I feel like Sergachev would be a great fit in NJ. Doubt Tampa would trade him.

If we "had" to trade him this past off-season, I thought NJ made sense, but when it comes down to Sergy, Cirelli, and Cernak, Sergy is Tampa's top priority going forward.

Devils could have made a big move for Sergachev and Johnson/Killorn/Gourde last offseason to help Tampa but its too late now

If you move one of Killorn or McDnough (to Seattle or wherever), then you could afford the 1M retention couldn't you? Obviously no retention would be better and if you want to pay more to get that then go for it, but the Canucks probably wouldn't take him at his full cap hit.

If McDonagh goes to Seattle we have cap to play with, but I just don't see Johnson to Vancouver as a fit to begin with.

I think he could be a good addition in terms of what he brings, but not at his current cap hit, hence the retention. Canucks probably wouldn't be interested in him at his full cap hit.

I was never too disappointed about losing Nolan. Yea he’s got great offensive upside, but I don’t think he was a great scheme fit due to his skating issues. Maybe he has worked them out by know, I’ve really stopped following him after he got traded. But as far as that trade goes, I’d rather have Finley and the picks. I think Finley will surprise a lot of people and of course those draft picks are quite valuable.

From what I have read, his skating is now at a point where it would no longer be a hindrance to him making it in the NHL. I like Finley too, but in a hypothetical trade I'd imagine NJ would want another big body forward back.
