I’m sorry I get Eichel is half the franchise but to think they’ll get Zibanejad + Laf + Nils + 1st is delusional.

they wouldn't want Zibnajad. He's Max Domi 2.0. Have an insane shooting percentage for one season everyone thinks he's a top 10 center then they regress to their average/below average fort that they are at. Eichel to the Rangers makes no sense right now.

Well if you're gonna say Zibanejad is Max Domi 2.0 (lol), then I would assume Eichel to the Rangers does make sense because we wouldn't have a 1C

Not even that; if a Jack Eichel trade happens within the next year, Buffalo is bound to get an underwhelming return, let alone a fair one, because the team would have absolutely no leverage. Of course, that would be because Eichel will have asked for a trade otherwise there's no point in shipping him away. So, not only would my Kaapo Kakkos and Alexis Lafrenieres be off limits, but so would your Quinton Byfields and Trevor Zegrases. The trade market isn't always going to return the same trade value, ESPECIALLY for players who demand a trade.

That's why I can't stand making Eichel trades on this site, because no matter what trade you do, it's going to be one that bites the Sabres in the behinds. (Like the quantity over quality one I made the other week).

Yes it did. But not enough either. 5 1st, Stutzle, and Tkauck to start

Idk that’s a pretty lazy comparison honestly. If you’re going to be fair at least include that aside from a career year, Mika had COVID and is currently shooting less than 4%. Is he having a bad year? He sure is. Is he a one year wonder? Hell no. He’s scored 27+ goals 3 years in a row and back to back 70 point seasons. Don’t mean to rag on you specifically but the knee-jerk reactions and hyperbolic statements people make on here are wild sometimes.

i think a team might have to give up one of their top guys to be fair, but when people want 3 top prospects and 2 first rounders for eichel theyre going to be massively let down

Agreed. But Dubois wanted out and Columbus got a hell of a return

he did but i cant see a scenario where that happens again, not many guys of eichels caliber also want out with their teams willing to swap them. Someone might upgrade (ie the jets send dubois and a bit for eichel) but cant see a straight swap like that happening again

True, but it helped Columbus big time that Patrik Laine was also on the block. It’s definitely possible that another star emerges as a candidate for new scenery, but at this moment there are no huge commodities. Not even Eichel is available (yet).

Sabres will get a return similar to what OTT got for EK, no team is going to trade several of their best players/prospects for one player, no mater how good they are. Ott got lucky with tyhe SJS picks being 3rd and Norris ending up a stud, it will depend on sabers scouts to get prospects like that from any deal
