Description
Super simple trades

MTL-NYI Trade (based on https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2247541)
Isles and Habs trade away struggling players for a change of scenery. Isles get Victor Mete, a project LHD who can play when called upon. Habs get Kieffer Bellows, a young goal-scoring LW who's fallen out of favor with Trotz, and Sebastian Aho, an offensive LHD who could play in the NHL if given the chance. I'm sure the Habs would be thrilled to finally have Sebastian Aho play for the Canadiens *wink wink nudge nudge*

SJS-NYI Trade (based on https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2248987)
Isles acquire Patrick Marleau, someone who Lou has an affinity for and can play for a contender. He'd fit in nicely on the third line with Pageau and Wahlstrom, and if he struggles he can rotate with Komarov and MDC. Isles also acquire Fredrik Claesson, some nice defensive depth. I'd like to be at least 9 NHL defensemen deep come playoff time, and I think Claesson would be #8 behind Mete and ahead of Hickey. If the Sharks don't want to trade Marleau (or if Marleau doesn't want to leave SJ), I'd upgrade the pick to a 5th for Matt Nieto.

I don’t think isles fans realize how good dal colle has been this season...he’s a lot better than marleau right now.

That's why I didn't trade him away. Marleau/Komarov/MDC can play in a rotation. Marleau is better than Czarnik, Ladd, or Johnston as depth.

I wouldn’t even say Marceau is better than czarnik. Your ACGM is pretty accurate the kind of moves Lou would make, but at this point there’s no reason for MDC to be an extra if he’s healthy. Just my opinion.

MDC leads the isles in on ice expected goals %. When he’s on the ice the isles control play and dominate high danger scoring chances. His skating is average at best and he has average puck skills, but his ability to read and react to plays and be strong on the forecheck leads to results when he’s playing with talented players.

Sharks decline, that’s not enough to watch Marleau break the all time games played record elsewhere, and your team isn’t a cup contender so why would Marleau want to go?
Sorry no thanks

Toronto????? Tampa you have a point. But toronto? Really? The leafs are a fraud they do it every year play well in the regular season and lose in the first round. And thats with tampa and boston in the division. Now whos competing with them? Edmonton. If edmontons your competition youre not really getting tested. You couldve said colorado or vegas or even boston but you said toronto. I sense some bias here.

No bias I’m a sharks fan through and through.
I like your coach and the team but it feels like your window is still 2-3 years away.
Toronto brought in good leadership with Spezza, Simmonds and Thornton so I see them being stronger this year.
I though Montreal was going to kill but they are looking flawed
Colorado looks beatable, especially after the sharks whooped them 6-2, Vegas is legit Tampa is legit, Florida I think fails in the 2 nd round rangers in a 1st or 2nd round islanders probably 2nd round exit Maybe to round 3 but not the cup sorry

Oh i get you now. But idk theirl 1 weakness was goaltending but grubs has been really good this season. I dont see vegas beating them without significant injuries to COL. As for the playoffs i see it being TBL, COL, WPG, and NYI. Could i be biased for my isles for sure but i just dont see anyone beating them in the east with the way theyve dominated boston this year. I will also not predict a TOR playoff series win until it happens, and EDM is not going anywhere in the playoffs. Their d/goaltending is a dumpster fire, and unless they go out and get a goalie theyre going to lose in the 1st round.

MTL doesn’t need LHD unless Bergevin deems he has the possibility to win NOW. If he does, I don’t think Aho is the guy he’s looking for.

Habs are currently extremely happy with a couple of LH shooting D they have (Edmundson & Romanov), are extremely happy with Guhle’s performance at the WJHC and his brief AHL appearance, and have an abundance of LHD prospects in the system (Fairbrother, Harris, Struble, Norlinder).

I think the value is fair, I just don’t see the Habs wanting Aho.

Maybe there’s something to be said in a deal centering around Mete for Bellows. Tatar is UFA this summer, Lehkonen is RFA, and not many high prospect LW in the Habs system.

Colorado is a beast regular season team but the sharks started checking and pressing them and making them play on their heals and they responded poorly, in the layoffs against a tight checking plus team I feel they falter, they need some vet leadership and toughness in my opinion
NYI are close but need a little bit more. They fall in the tier 2 but have a bright future.
I see the cup contenders
MTL if they clean up coaching and price rebounds
TBL if they get healthy at the end of the season
TOR if they continue to build on their strengths
VGK cause that team is just stacked
DAL if they get healthy
WAS if they find a goalie at the deadline

CAR, FLP, WPJ, BOS, COl, & NYI can be dangerous but won’t quite make it.

The rest are not in the picture.

I dont know how you put WAS in the picture, if youre taking into account moves that could be made then every one of those teams can make a move for that thing theyre missing. I dont see dallas getting close, i see them like st louis, a team that had a great run but was in way over their heads. VGK and TBL i agree with. MTL i really liked them coming in to the season, thought they would make a run but they seem just off. But either way i dont see any way they beat VGK or COL or TBL or even BOS or NYI. CAR is a sneaky team but i havent watched them much this year. FLA needs another year or 2, (or 3). They have a nice core but they need a little time, the issue is if they dont trade barkov, when he walks it will set them back a long way. WPG is the most well rounded team in the north besides TOR, but like i said i wont believe a TOR series win till i see it, so i see WPG coming out of the north but they dont really have a chance.

Agree with you but Washington is 1 good goalie form being a threat again.
