Trading for a LHD

Description
Given Blake's recent interview on the Fox and Faust podcast, I don't believe the rumors to be true that LA is looking for a "dynamic LHD under 25." However, if they are true, there's a couple guys that the Kings could be interested in.

What do you think these guys would cost? One or the other, not both.

If the Kings were up against the cap and weak at some other positions, then I think they would consider it, especially if they had a Pietrangelo equivalent on the top pair already. Let's say you move out Theodore, but add Bjornfot, Kempe, and Vilardi. You clear $3M in cap space for other improvements while strengthening your middle six on offense.

Or you keep him, Pietro, Stone, etc and trade anything else not nailed down. He's a key piece.

You're just barking up the wrong tree

Fair enough, thanks for the feedback.

Even if the Kings are offering a 1st + Turcotte? I'm not saying they would, but every player has a price.

Would LA offer Byfield straight up?

My guess, no.... I don’t really get this “dynamic D” for the kings.. yes it would be nice to get one of those guys but kings already have bjornfot, Anderson, and clague. Though obviously I would trade clague if the kings were to go this route for this particular Dman. Dunn or graves comes to mind... really like graves

As I said in the description, I don't find it credible either. Interesting to think about who it could be if Blake did want to acquire someone though.

I wouldn’t mind graves or Dunn though. Anderson, bjornfot, Dunn would be I nice left side unless clague can handle the nhl full time. Seems like a LaDue situation.

I think Clague actually looked real good during his call up this season. They sent him down because they wanted to give Bjornfot a look, and he ran away with the job. After the expansion draft, they don't need to keep around Maatta and MacDermid as exposure fodder anymore, so they can dump them both and keep Strand and Clague on board full time (assuming Seattle doesn't take one of them).

Yeah I liked him too, just a small sample though. I hope he’s up full time next year, is what I really meant. Time will tell.

Based on reports from Hoven yesterday, it sounds like the Kings are leaning towards going the 7-3-1 protection route, so it's likely that Clague won't be protected and will be lost to Seattle.

Theodore's basically untouchable unless you're starting with Byfield or Turcotte/Vilardi

I think a 1st + Turcotte could very realistically be included in a Theodore trade.

I think 1st, Bjornfot, Turcotte is probably what it'd have to be. Even then both teams probably decline. Really don't think Vegas is ever going to be willing to trade Theodore unless the return is more than he's worth

I could see it being 1st+Turcotte+Clague+ one of Kupari/Madden/Thomas

Considering that's the current asking price for Jack Eichel, that seems unlikely.

      I could see something like 1st + Kempe + Kupari/Madden though.

Vegas couldn't. They're not selling. Convince them otherwise. If you're trying to catch Jaws you're going to need a bigger boat....
