MTL aren’t trading Romanov for a Prospect but I do think Turcotte have more value than Romanov

Yeah some of these are unrealistic. Especially the Buffalo and CBJ ones.

Thoughts? Some are obviously farfetched. My value might be off on a few.

I know this sounds crazy, but I think the Nashville one is my favorite. Kings get a temporary good 1LD to play with Doughty while Anderson and Bjornfot develop with easier minutes as well as adding a #2RD that could potentially replace Doughty some day.

Do you want responses to the trades as if most of the guys you've included are actually available from their teams, or do you want realistic responses?

The caliber of players you are targeting you rarely get in trades. They have to be prospects outside of the NHL, or you have to draft them... that’s just my take.

I thought LA was content with their LD long term? Every time I make a Kings AGM thread getting a different LD, I get swarmed by angry kings fans who say they have absolutely no desire for a solution on their back end.

I'm a Preds fan who doesn't want to trade Fabbro, but I'd take this trade.

We are. Apparently upper management is content long term at RD with Doughty, Roy, Walker which I am strongly against.

Long term Bjornfot, Anderson, Clague is fine, but it looks like they want to upgrade now.

Turcotte needs to stay, the advantage the Kings have before next season is (1) several teams will be against the cap (2) several teams have a defensive player that will likely be lost to Seattle that could potentially be more valuable for the Kings to protect over Walker (3) The Kings are a large market team on the upswing offering a player the opportunity to eat minutes with Doughty. I know Blake is looking for a young defenseman but I think we actually need a vet shut down guy with Doughty, grabbing an Alexander Elder or Mattias Ekholm would work better and cheaper. Kings use their first this year to pick up that LD, by the time the vet is done our defenseman should be ready to play.

If we have to use this years 1st for an older vet then we might as well go big or go home and add Turcotte for something substantial.

I know, some of these are unrealistic. Given the RD depth and lack of C depth NYR has I figured I'd give something like that a look.

I know, some of these are unrealistic. Given the RD depth and lack of C depth NYR has I figured I'd give something like that a look.

Fox is just a non starter, its like the pens trading crosby in 2012 instead of staal

If we have to use this years 1st for an older vet then we might as well go big or go home and add Turcotte for something substantial.

I don't think so, the vet more would be free agency next year. Even with the streak Blake seems to believe we are still rebuilding and not yet buyers. If we make a move I think it will be a team sending a cap dump but it's still a player we could use. They looked lost in today's game, so I somewhat agree that we aren't there yet, but we are on the right track. However if we can get a bonafide top line player I'm ok moving pieces

I get what your trying to do and the offer isn’t terrible, but Fox is literally our best d man on a d core that isn’t great. Can’t see him being moved at all considering he’s our number 1 defenseman and is only 22. Dude has the potential to be the best defenseman we’ve in 20 years (not saying he’ll be as good as Leetch, but I could see him being better than prime McDonagh at his peak).

We are. Apparently upper management is content long term at RD with Doughty, Roy, Walker which I am strongly against.

Long term Bjornfot, Anderson, Clague is fine, but it looks like they want to upgrade now.

This is where I believed LA's management would be assessing things. Of Anderson, Clague and Bjornfot only the latter is someone I would consider to likely be a real top-4 going forward, and he is not a dynamic D.

Of the LD you mentioned: Ekholm is well above 25, Dahlin won't be traded, Werenski...can't see it, Romanov - no way (but Mete will probably be traded), Lindgren...I guess it is possible (but certainly not Fox, who is a RD anyway), Sergachev - no way Tampa is trading that kind of piece, Chychrun - can't see it, Pettersson - who knows with Pitts right now, but is he really a "dynamic" D?, and Dunn - probably.

So among the candidates you listed I really only see Dunn as a real possibility.

But I would add Mete, Bean and Butcher. And, personally, I would also add Sandin .

Mete and Butcher aren't dynamic, Bean and Sandin aren't established like the Kings want, and lastly trades like this always catch people by surprise.

Ekholm and Fabbro make most sense to me because they aren't "untouchable" and one of them is on the block. Yes, Kings said they are looking for a "dynamic LD 25 or under" but they also said they want someone who can play with Doughty and Doughty loves playing with defensive D. They get a defensive LD to play with Doughty as well as a dynamic #2 RD under 25 that could potentially replace Doughty someday and they do not have that. By the time Ekholm is a UFA, Bjornfot and Anderson will be able to take the LD torch. It's a win win.

I am going exactly with what Dreger said:

"Rob Blake of the Los Angeles Kings is another one looking for a defenseman…25-and-under, he specifically wants a dynamic, left-shot defenseman."

                                  Dynamic, left-shot defenseman, 25-and-under.

Nothing at all about "established like the Kings want" - that's what you want. Would they ideally want that? Sure - as would every team, but Seth Jones trades happen once a decade at most, and the most important criteria according to Dreger were: 25-and-under, left-shot defenseman and dynamic.

Ekholm and Fabbro do not make sense for what Dreger said.

It's common sense if you're a Kings fan lol. We already have Bjornfot, Anderson, and Clague who have already shown they can play 20+ minutes in the NHL. If the Kings are going to give up a high end player, it'll be for someone who is already established.
