    Why would Toronto touch that?

    This is really bad....
    1. Why would Toronto ever make that trade
    2. By your logic we get a 2nd, arguably Toronto's best prospect for taking back Vesey salary?

I don't know if the trade has been changed or something, but I don't think there's any argument to be made that Abramov is the Leafs best prospect. Still wouldn't make this trade if I were the Leafs, though.

I would say arguably as I would still rank Amirov and Robertson probably slightly ahead of him.

Take out the 3rd round pick/Gauthier and Calgary might consider. Strome only has 1 more year left after this season, and he'll probably want more than what Calgary would give him. The flames already have some young d prospects in the system comparable to robertson, and with development time they might not look at him as very valuable, as I don't think they're looking at rebuilding in the next year or so

For the time it takes D to develop, I just don't see the flames getting much better by switching Hanifin for Strome.

They should be able to get a better short term goal scoring winger by moving Hanifin than Strome.

He's not in the same class as Robertson and Amirov. Nor Sandin, though some don't consider him a prospect anymore. He's a solid prospect, but #1 is out of the question.

Personally, I'd have him in the 5-8 range (not too concerned about the specific number), on a list that includes Sandin.

The difference between the Toronto 2nd and the Rangers 4th will be just a little over one round. And I've seen Toronto fans express a strong desire for Lemieux or someone like him to add some grit. You also have him for another season at $900,000 due to the retention. Not saying I'm right and you're wrong but it's not as simple as a prospect and a 2nd.

I was going by rankings of Leaf prospects in the Atlantic and Abramov was ranked ninth. He wasn't even the top ranked center on the list. I wouldn't expect a top five prospect in a deal like this.
