You’re gonna get crucified by Detroit fans. That’s an insulting Larkin offer.

penguins don't need more defensemen. They got like 9 of them as is. They will be trying to sell some of them.

drouin isn't scraps. he's only a year older but he's slightly cheaper and he having the better year.

why would the new captain need a "change in scenery"

Probably should just remove that Detroit trade. Larkin doesn’t need a change of scenery but a new head coach.

because his career is regressing in detroit. he went from 73 points 2 seasons ago, to 53 points last season, to now where he's on pace for a 41 points, if it were a full season.

Larkin is fantastic and is on team that barely gives him an support. Drouin has a solid team around him and is still only an average top 6 player.

Why trade for Hall when you can sign him in free agency next season for free

First Drouin and Yzerman WILL NEVER be on the same team again. I don't think Drouin is scraps but he is no where close to Larkin in value. He has 1 20g season and it was in 2016-17 season. That leaves Byron who is a cap dump from Detroit's pov.

The statement above proves you know very little about The Wings. I'm sorry but this is awful for Detroit and its not close.

nothing about that statement is wrong. larkin's production is falling drastically. even more than last season which was a historically bad season for detroit.

laugh laugh First off fat chance in hell that Yzerman would take Drouin back. And Drouins best season is 20 points less then Larkins best season. There's noway in hell that gets you Larkin Byron is a freaking cap dump for god sakes there's no freaking way you're getting Larkin for this start with Suzuki+Romanov+Caufield and keep adding.

Dude Larkins production hasn't fallen dramatically 53 points in 71 games isn't a dramatic drop off compared to 73 points the season before. He was still heading for a 63 point pace last season before the Covid pandemic prematurely ended the season.

Perhaps it's our idiot head coach that's stagnating Larkin.

I think the last thing the pens should do is trade a LW for a LD.

Yes they are one game behind last years numbers but at this point last season no one had any idea what was coming. With the amount of turnover Detroit add that to not being able to practice regularly I surprised they are only a game off. Now Montreal had very little turnover in the offseason and that's why they started the season hot they were playing as a team and not just a bunch of guys with the same color jersey.

When I said you know very little about Detroit I wasn't questioning the stats anyone can read a score sheet. I was talking about knowing the team because if you did you wouldn't have posted this. Larkin is from Detroit and grew up watching the Wings and after being named captain he's Detroit's 4th captain since the 1986-87 season and it is a big deal in Detroit. They have had anyone wear a c for the past 2 seasons and if a the captain gets hurt that add another A but not C. The other captains Detroit has had during that stretch are Yzerman, Lidstrom and Zetterberg. So if you knew Detroit you'd understand that Larkin isn''t going anywhere he is Detroit most important player and from the other comments quite a few people know this. The fact you had Drouin going to Detroit with their history it was only three and a half seasons ago. Did you just start following hockey? Or are you a new fan of Montreal? Now you can use all the stats as you want but the game is played by people and quite often the stats don't tell the whole story and just can't be explained. Hockey is an amazing game it fun to watch, play, coach and even ref at times. If you stay buried in the stats you will miss most of what makes hockey great.

laugh laugh Drouin is nowhere near Larkins level, Drouin has 13 points to Larkins 11 points Montreal has scored 64 goals to Detroit's 44 goals perhaps that's why Drouin has 13 points and Larkin has 11 points Drouins best seasons are 53, 46 53 points respectively Larkin's best season are 63, 73, 53 points respectively far better then Drouin besides Drouins a winger which Detroit abundantly has we need centers not more worthless wingers.

I’m surprised no one’s brought up our historically bad PP. I think we’re on our way to set a record something like 40 consecutive fails so far.

Yup our stagnating PP is killing the team as well, I mean we've scored 40 5vs5 goals and 4 PP goals that right there should tell you something.

larkins best season was an anomaly. he hasn't been near that level since. he's on a 41 pt full season pace. talk about over rated. he's had a 70, 60, 50, 40, and 30 point season and on pace for another 40 point. he inconsistent and over rated. he's a 2c on most teams in the league including montreal.

career wise he's a .67ppg player. that's 55 point over a full season. it's not like he's young or new either. he's a vet. he's on his 6th full season. that's not far off drouins career .60ppg. drouin isn't a dud in the playoffs either which is more than can be said so far with larkin.
