So what makes 2019 great and 2020 okay? Are we talking top end prospects only? Depth of the draft?
I think the extra year of development is creating a little bias here. Yes, 2022 looks like the top end talent of Wright, Savoie, and Lambert is shaping up nicely. 2021 in my eyes doesn’t compare to 2019-2020, 2022 for a clear definite top small grouping of guys.
Depth...measuring by number of impact players.
2019 was great and about 45-deep with potential to be solid, impact guys
2020 was okay...a few impact forwards, but after the 1st half of 1st round, lotta warts. Some sneaky good d-men in 2nd / 3rd.
2021 is okay...probably a good year for a late 1st pick and some guys may fall with limited scouting (but who knows)
2022 is great at the top, with guys you mentioned, but also very deep, McGroarty, Fleming, Nemec, Miro, Casey, Howard, Kemmell, etc etc.
2023 will likely be top-heavy...good at top....thinner later on
