Gotta think most of these teams walk away as soon as you mention those names.

Agreed. And Toronto couldn't without some money going the other way. Vancouver would have to eat half and take Engvall or something. Then you could do conditional picks or something like that.

Colorado is probably the most realistic, although Jost has been pretty good for the Avs this year, so I don’t even know if that would go. I think what’s most likely is that he gets traded for like a 2nd and a 5th or something like that and Vancouver either retains to make it work or takes an expiring contract back

Avs are trading jost for a bottom 6 pending ufa, they will keep the cost controlled cheaper rfa vs 3.75m cap hit they can’t even accommodate on with their roster

Nah, least realistic bc Avs don’t have any cap space, and they don’t want to add any right now to get off of ltir money so they can apply makars bonus money to this season.

They can’t do this deal even with they wanted to

Then I stand corrected. Didn’t know they were so short on cap space

Yeah they are in a bit of cap issues bc of all the injuries they dealt with. They can’t accrue the cap space they need since know they have to use ltir on Francoiz, they need to create cap space for that bonus money, if they add at the deadline it’s a money in for the same money Out type of deal

Wow, just what the Wild need: a rental left shot wing /s

I'd be very surprised if we ever traded Addison, and if we did it would be in a package for a legitimate #1 center. Can't see us being even remotely interested in this trade.

it's tight but not that tight. they might be able to do pearson - jost at the deadline. maybe with a tiny bit of retention. bonuses are allowed to carry over but it's not ideal.

Hey Meth is bad you should stop using it especially if it makes you think that Toronto trade is at all acceptable in your mind. Here’s a hint if needed Amirov>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pearson

My thought process was Toronto is already a contender, adding Pearson may push them over the hump which would make it worth giving up a decent prospect for a better chance at Lord Stanley

yikes, the value is all over the place. No way he gets anything like Amirov or Carlo.
Jost is probably the best you could hope for out of these

That Florida or Carolina trade might work. You are looking at a second round pick or equivalent plus whatever. And maybe money back.

Amirov is arguably their best prospect besides Robertson. Maybe a lesser prospect like Hirvonen. Most likely a second round pick would be what Pearson would fetch from Toronto.

Think of it this way it would be the 15th overall pick for Pearson who is a rental and you would not give up a 1st even if he wasn’t

Aside from the compensation back (either conditional picks or player-to-be-named) it wasn't a bad idea. We could really use a bigger-bodied (one that uses it) winger that can bury it when given the chance. He would look really good with JT and Willie. If we had the cap room, it would be nice to see if a deal could be worked out.

ok but he's worth like maybe a 2nd and a 3rd at absolute best, and that's if you retain 50% on him, because he's a UFA. Pretty well all of these teams decline

That's what I was thinking. A second turned into a first if he's extended (or the team makes the finals or something).

it's tight but not that tight. they might be able to do pearson - jost at the deadline. maybe with a tiny bit of retention. bonuses are allowed to carry over but it's not ideal.
no they can’t because of Frankie being on LTR and I wouldn’t trade Jost for Pearson anyway.

You can't put an extension condition on picks anymore, but it wouldn't be a 1st anyway. It would just be additional mid level pieces.

i wouldn't either but i think the avs can do that trade at the deadline if the wanted to. the cap friendly team breakdown seems to support the idea.
