NJ is rebuilding through youth ... giving up a second rounder for a 30 year old goes against everything the GM has been preaching. Good player but wrong team to target. There will also be plenty of proven veteran forwards available as UFAs this offseason if teams are looking for experienced wings ... no need to give up assets to aquire one (particularly what looks to be a top 40 - 45 pick)

Zacha is a center and Palmieri is likely to leave Devils this year
doubt Gusev gets an extension either

Zacha plays wing now. There's also players like Foote, Holtz, Mercer, Boqvist that could all make the team next year
