is that what you said when we got Kessel? I think Kessel and Bozak will be a great pair again.

No I loved the Kessel trade, but that is way too much to give up for a second/third line center. Defense is thin enough as it is. Are you a Leaf fan?

Then you put Malkin at RW? That kills any depth you add....

Its just a bad trade all around, I wouldn't even trade Cullen and Kunitz for Bozak (at 4.2 million for two years)

Don't know why the Pens really need another centre. And why is Pens warrior Kunitz given so little respect? Pens need help at LW so you would think Kunitz is worth keeping. The trade going forward is really Dumoulin and a first (late in the round) for Bozak. That might be fair, though the Leafs really don't need Dumoulin and Bozak is a handy veteran guy to for the Leafs to have till 2018.

I don't see why the Penguins give up all that for them two.

For everyone saying the Pens are giving up too much for Bozie. Well your wrong because Bozak is a very good leadership type role player. And Sparks is a (B-) goalie prospect. The players that the Pens are giving up would not help the Leafs at all. Kunitz is a 4th line player at this point of his career. Dumoulin has some potential but hasn't shown it yet. As of right now he's a third pair D. And Cullen is a good 4th line shutdown player. He's the only one with real value here to a contending team unlike the Leafs which they are not as of now. 1st can be added but there's really no point to this trade as it helps absolutely nobody.

Edit:
(I missed Palhal's comment but yeah he's pretty much right)

Yes, all of this is true. Pens become a significantly worse team after this deal. The drop from 71 to Bozak at 2nd line center is a cliff and 71 on 87's wing has proven throughout his career as not the best use of his talents. 71 is a center, and should be used as such. On top of that, everyone is so quick to malign Kunitz's production but he still outscored Bozak last year.
