Leafs won’t part with Riley easily, Preds are set to rebuild I think you’ll have the best chance of getting Defensemen without overpaying from Nashville.

SammyT and other Leafs fans seem to believe we could get Rielly for Akil Thomas, 2021 or 2022 1st, and a 2nd or 3rd.

I think the Nashville trade makes most sense for the Kings, but that's just me. At one point, Fabbro was said to have top 2 potential. He's not really working out in Nashville it seems like though and obviously Ekholm is on the block and he'd make a perfect short term partner for Doughty while Anderson and Bjornfot develop with easier minutes.

SammyT and 'other Leafs fans' are crazy. They are in a position to be pushing for contention the next few years. They arn't trading their leading TOI player, a defenseman, for futures. It doesn't make any sense for their position.

I'm not on the train of trading Rielly, however I think it's an important specification that the referenced SammyT trade takes place in the offseason.

If that’s all it takes to get Riley sign me up now. But It’s funny I’m actually higher on Ekholm being Doughtys partner and being a great short term patch and remain competitive, Fabbro could be legit, but we need more LD prospects.

I really like the Nashville guys. It would cost a lot to get both though I would assume... I honestly can’t think of where to start if it’s for both. If it’s for fabbro (Doubt he’s available) sure. Walker or Roy would have to go back though.
Graves from COL wouldn’t be a bad LD choice as well. Might take a little less to get him

I think the Nashville trade would cost us Turcotte tbh.

If the Leafs are trading Rielly they definitely need a return that helps them now and Thomas plus picks is probably an under-pay anyway. Vilardi plus a 1st seems fair assuming the Kings are re-signing Rielly long-term in the process.

I offered Turcotte, Thomas, Spence, and a 2021 1st and Nashville fans loved it while everyone else said it was an overpay.

Yeah, honestly if that was the cost I think I would stand pat personally.

If it was Thomas, Spence, ‘21 2nd, and ‘22 2nd I’d do it for fabbro. Not sure NSH would though. I have no idea what they’re looking for as well. I’ll make a post and see. Some people on here are unreasonable so who knows.

The Muzzin trade a couple seasons ago seems like a good reference point. So a 1st, plus Thomas and Spence seems fair I think?

Plus whatever Fabbro is worth, which isn't Turcotte I wouldn't think.

Thomas, Spence, and a 1st definitely gets Ekholm. Although that pick will be 10-20 most likely so Thomas and the 1st could possibly get it done. Fabbro is where things could get tricky.

Leafs might be lose Dmen Bogosian and Lehtonen as UFAs and one of Dermot or Holl to Seattle. Leafs aren't in position to trade two Dmen.
Leafs are in a "win mode", so don't think Reilly is to be traded

It is a pure fantasy spread by a few people on twitter - almost all of whom know that it is never going to happen - but simply want it to happen.

I think Ekholm is a bit old to fit into the Kings rebuild. Fabbro would be a nice addition, but I wouldn't give a top tier asset for him.

If the Nashville trade costs Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, or Kaliyev then I would pass. If they'll take some combination of lesser prospects like Madden, Kupari, Thomas, or Dudas plus a pick, then it might work.

See that the Kings might be checking out Graves from Colorado with the plethora of D they have right now.
