These Pens "fans" are crazy. Its one game haha.. we have done well this year considering we have yet to play 2 of the worse teams in the division. Yes, some guys need to pick it up. Yes, changes should be made, but Crosby isnt the issue and trading him isnt going to solve anything. If we fail to do anything this season and he says he wants out, then sure. Right now tho, we just keep going.

Every other one I`ve done I was told I gave way too much. Add Kotkaniemi then.

A true Penguins fan should realize that the cup window is closed and we owe it to Sid, Geno and Letang to go if they want to. Why waste the twilight of their careers in a garbage team? It is better for player and team if they do this.

I was one to say that this isnt a championship team anymore. I think we could still win games, but going all the way doesnt seem like something this team can do. Anyways, we do not have a 1st this year, so might as well give it their all and go for it. If they fail, then you consider those changes in the offseason and you ask those guys if they want out.

Pens and Habs both have 23 points in 20 games, plus Montreal is tremendously proving they're not as good as they appeared. Not saying the Pens are much better, but he'd suffer more in MTL than in PIT

They still have shaky goaltending, an aging and suspect defense, and some key FAs

Yes, I agree. It won`t happen this year but there will be massive changes this summer.

I think Malkin is gone 100% this offseason. Letang probably as well. Then the decision will be made, do you trade Sid as well or do you use the assets and cap space from Malkin and Letang to build around Sid again?

The power is in Sid's and Geno's hands. If they want out, theyll get it. Hard to see Sid wanting to be dealt.

I dont understand these crosby trades when people say stuff like "pittsburgh should let crosby go win a cup before he retires" or "pens owe it to crosby to play on a contender". Like have they not paid attention the last 10+ years?

No clue, I get if he personally has the desire to win more, kinda like I think Toews does. But Pittsburgh got him 3 cups, he didn't do it alone, they don't owe him anything

While I think this trade will never happen, that Cole Caufield is one heck of a prospect. The Habs would be giving up essentially 3 first round picks (which includes Caufield), and the rights to sign Tatar and Danault before anyone else and the RFA rights to a solid role player in Lehkonen.

AGAIN, I do not think the trade would ever happen, or that this is a fair deal, but it's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Hextall and Burke would have had to have decided that they are in a position for a full rebuild AND Crosby had to have asked for a trade. Neither are probably going to happen.

I think Malkin will no doubt. Especially if he continues to struggle and the fans keep going at him.

Hard to see it but I hope Sid does. I hope Mario goes to him and says "It`s okay". They have done so much for the Penguins and the community. They deserve it.

2 years ago I think I would agree but with Rutherford leaving and with who they brought in I really wouldn`t be surprised anymore. It is just a matter of how the rest of the year goes tbh.

If they do trade him though it will be for a haul like this.

Not sure what you mean? Pens have been contenders but are clearly a step behind now and their cupboard is empty from years of being a contender. Why force Crosby to play on mediocre teams for this final years?

Yea I can't see Syd leaving either. He has had his success, I don't think he will leave just to win one more cup. The man is a leader, he isn't going to bail now.

Which is unfortunate because he deserves the opportunity. Gave all he had to this city and this team. Missed his prime years.

Why would Sidney Crosby or Penguins organization choose to allow the twilight of Crosby`s career to be mired in mediocrity? The best thing for player and team is to ship him and begin a new era with a full on rebuild. Sid can come back in 4 years and sign another contract and retire a Penguin once they have rebuilt. That should be the plan. Rebuild, allow the core to thrive somewhere else and allow them to come back if they want to in FA.

It would be an absolute shame to see Crosby fade away with a team that is positioned to have dark years ahead without any picks/prospects.

Now...anyone who has watched college hockey this year knows that Cole Caufield is basically toying with the NCAA at this point: he is clearly too good for college hockey, even as a sophmore. He is exactly what Montreal really needs; an affordable sniper. If - and that's a big IF - his speed, penchant for finding open ice, hockey awareness and already elite NHL shot translates well to the NHL (which Montreal is undoubtably hoping for), he will give them that power play scorer they lack. While many may say that he is just a prospect, he is still an elite one, and he projects to be what they truly need. It would take a haul like Crosby or Eichel for Montreal to consider moving him, too.
