I like it for the leafs which is why I don’t like it haha. I wouldn’t want Nylander for Brady. Seems like we are losing

That's why I said underpay, Nylander is 1 dimensional without any defensive awareness or any ability to forecheck. First and second make it a little better but the leafs would have to add liljegren to this current deal if the want to get the conversation started

We need elite guys who drive play not guys who ride shotgun. Brady drives play

Doesn't make much sense for the Sens timeline. They are a season or two away from competing for a playoff spot still. No reason to be trading a younger star for an older one.

Really? Did the op change? I figure a late first is what he will cost, although i imagine theres cap coming back in some way, as long as it drops off this year.

the leafs arent getting hall at 6m and a 3rd for a late first. just absolutely never going to happen. Look at the devils trade with hall last year as a starting point. 1st, 1st round prospect, 2nd round prospect, 3rd and a 3rd round prospect for hall and a 3rd round prospect. You dont sell assets for nothing in this business.

Wait what? Since when? He's not even top 50 in scoring which is the only thing he can actually do

It says an nhl exec said that if the sabres retain 50%,
they will get a pick, but it will not be a first. I hope you are right, it only takes two team to drive the price up and one team to pay it of course.

Who's doing the shooting on that Tavares line? Nylander is a better fit than Brady is there.

if taylor hall at 4m doesnt get a 1st+++, the sabres as an organization should just sell.

Has like the most shots in the league and has a ton of high danger scoring chances. No one can stop him. That’s exactly the type of goals you need in the playoffs

still not a top player in the league though even though he is a good player he is still soooooo overrated and with him having that many high danger chances if he was a true superstar you would think he would be right near the top of the league in goals instead of just a decent amount of goals.

Maybe cuz our team is still developing and he’s barely 21. He’s playing with a rookie Josh Norris and Connor Brown. Play him with 2 offensive seasoned players and tell me he won’t score 30-35 goals minimum

he has more goals playing with norris and connor brown than nylander does playing with tavares/matthews/marner and the leafs powerplay, on pace for 30 something goals over 82 games and is leading the league in high-danger scoring chances if im not mistaken

yeah but Tkachuk does get a lot more ice time than Nylander as well and Nylander actually has one more point than Tkachuk and like you said he does play with better players but Tkachuk getting a few more minutes per game does balance that out a little

he does yeah, and im not saying the value is wrong on the trade per se, but im saying Tkachuk and nylander put up similar points in somewhat similar roles but nylander has a far far better supporting cast helping bump his numbers while tkachuk is doing it pretty much himself. He gets about a minute and a bit more than nylander but id attribute that more to the fact hes the sens best forward than anything else, id rather just hold onto brady than nylander tho, he has more intangiables and the team is basically built around him

Nylander does have better supporting cast forsure but its not the Ottawa Senators of last season where they really had no talent around Tkachuk this year he has much more options like Norris as his linemate and playing with Batherson Stutzle and Chabot on the power play etc and also in Nylanders defense I think he would put up very similar points if he was on the sens

yeah i dont disagree with that, would just rather keep tkachuk and his leadership/what he does for the team if were only getting a late first+2nd which we dont really need
