Lmao - tough go but everyone’s right. None of this makes sense for the other teams - and values/ returns are off too.

Like you fleece SJS - but then take Mantha from Detroit for Hertl, which sure maybe the values are similar but why does Detroit move the younger player and still has upside for Hertl who doesn’t match their timeline at all - when they could even just move Mantha for better younger assets that better fit their timeline.

Thanks for responses. I get it. Can you give me a reason why not? What value would be fair for the desired players?

What's weird about the Detroit trade? They get a defender of the similar age and sell Hertl for futures.

It’s just nonsensical, why does Detroit and San Jose even need Pittsburgh. Your team is there just to succeed and win every trade.

SJS: gains nothing from your trade.
Detroit: why would they move Mantha for Hertl just to trade Hertl for assets when they could just trade Mantha for assets.

Additionally; why wouldnt SJS and DET just not involve PIT.

Hertl

->

Mantha

Or just acquire Simek from SJS if they want a D.

SJS would prefer Mantha than Zucker. And why wouldn’t Detroit either; just get Hertl from SJS or trade Mantha for assets.

I’m not saying you’re dumb or anything; but why does Pittsburgh even have to be here. They’re only here just to get the better end of deals realistically.

SJS doesn’t need zucker nor that poor of a return for Hertl if they’re selling. Detroit doesn’t need Hertl nor should they acquire him if they’re just gonna trade him.

Alright, now I get it. You're right. I should have think bigger. They certainly wouldn't need Pittsburgh to be involved. You're saying that I hugely undervalued Hertl. I'm curious, what would be a fair price ?

Not undervalue more so just not a return SJS would need or want.

They’d want a first prospect and prospect or another pick (all values get determined by what’s involved obviously).

If we sell Hertl we’re rebuilding so we have zero need for good players - we’d want futures and quality prospects

In what way did Pittsburgh get the better end of any of these deals outside of the SJ one where he promptly gets ripped off even more by Detroit than he ripped SJ off for lol
