I think nothing. We'll put Koskinen on the taxi squad since nobody would ever claim him. Or we'll keep all 3 on the roster and make them all split starts lol

This ain't it. Koskinen is better than both Smith and Stalock

Probably one of 3 things: Smith likely ends up on the taxi squad, Oilers try to squeeze Stalock through waivers, or the they just roll with 3 goalies on the roster for a bit, given that they have the cap space to do so.

I'd assume option 3 is the most likely, followed by 2, then 1.

With Koekkoek being out for the season they have space to keep him on the Roster.
they can Waive turris it doesn't matter if they lose him.

Option 3 of keeping him as a scratch on the active roster is not too hard now. I waive (or re-send to taxi if already waived within the month): Neal, Turris, Kassian, P Russell all before the 3rd goalie. And with Koekkoek out and Bouch not requiring waivers, there is more flexibility with who the scratches are now.

Turris I could care less if he gets taken on waivers, can get a better suited defensive vet bottom 6 C at the deadline if need be to provide insurance for Khaira and Haas' relative inexperience (thinking Glendening and others like the idea too. Seems to suit Holland's Detroit fixation anyway lol). And as for Kass, not sure how long he'll be out, but if he were plucked off waivers, longterm that would be for the best anyway for cap space. But, I highly doubt he'd be taken, with Connolly and Henrique passing through. Longer contracts of multiple millions just aren't attractive in this cap world when the player is not performing well at the present time.

Chiasson and P. Russell already cleared Kassian replaces one of the two.

Depends how long it takes for Kass to come back, as I think it's only a month or something then the waiver requirement resets. Wouldn't waive Chiasson again if his waiverless period has lapsed, but absolutely P Russell.

Ideally have a 4th line of Chiasson, Haas and Kass, with Neal, Turris and P Russell waived/sent down if already waiver proof from previous exposure.
