The fact you have Karlsson on the third pair is just plain foolish plus Merkley is not NHL ready or top line ready

for next season I see us running d pairings similar to how they were two days ago. Karlsson got to play against worse competition, restricted PK minutes, and outchance opponents. There's no point in trotting out A washed up Karlsson and pretending he will ever be near what he used to be. Thus, he needs a role he can flourish in, 20 min max and used in spots where he can succeed. He won't be the player he used to be ever, and should not get 25-28 min ever like he did to start the season.

Flip Larsson and Merkley if it is that worrisome. I've watched all the Cuda games and Merkley honestly looks good defensively, unless he is out longer than arounf 45 seconds, then he makes some half-assed plays. He will be in the NHL next season, mainly replacing Burns.

Buying out Jones or Vlasic would be a viable option as well. Melinchuk is not NHL ready not even next year.Otherwise it's alright

Jones Buyout could be after 2020-21, but it is much more managable the season after imo. Vlasic's is so awful with its structure, buyout will not be soon

This team confuses me. What’s it ceiling? Second round exit? After this year. Your most likely gonna lose a contact with Seattle and you might be able to make savvy deal with hertl to infuse your rebuild. 2 years of reloading and your back at it.

Imo Hertl is the deciding factor. If we keep him, we're trying a 2 year reload. If he's traded, it is long term rebuild mode

The Vlasic contract is horrid. Jones can still perform but at that cap hit? Not good.
