You know you guys can just have nylander if you want, don’t need anything in return. Thompson’s just a piece of the o’reilly trade I want no part of on the hawks.

You're right about Nylander. I think SJS could be a good team for him to go to as well. I'm curious what it would take to get Timo Meier. Obviously alot more than just Alex Nylander, but maybe Strome, Nylander, Krutil, and a 2nd?

hawks should just stay the course. eichel doesn't make us a contender yet, so I don't see the point in giving up 3 huge pieces to the future plan

Well, I don’t necessarily disagree, but I also look at it in a different way. I firmly believe in building through a draft as well making trades for more youth with promise. However, given how this hawks team has done so far this year, this eichel honestly feels like a perfect fit. Eichel fits the high energy system in place. If there weren’t injuries to key players, I don’t think the hawks would be as good as they’ve been, cuz certain youth players wouldn’t get their chances.

Point by point, starting with the pick, I think the hawks have played themselves out of a marquee 1st round pick as long as they don’t collapse. With boqvist, it’s really in the eyes of the beholder. Quinn hughes has showed this year how horrendous he is on defense for the Canucks but he shields it with offense. While boqvist does have good offensive skill, I wouldn’t call it elite yet. That’s not to suggest he won’t develop to that. His defense is just bad though. As for Dach, everything the hawks are doing this year is without him and I couldn’t be happier, I won’t lie or hide that. It’s a slight vindication if anything. With that in mind, eichel is an upgrade on Dach tenfold and Dach will never be eichel.

So again, it’s purely subjective how one feels about that trade, but in my case, if this trade was offered to the hawks, freakin take it.

With. Meir being 24 power forward who has scored 30 goals in a season and the potential for more
The trade starts with a 22 1st and a a/b prospect. That’s a lot but he’s young and valuable, and the qualifying offer is only important if you don’t resign him before you have to pull that trigger.

NOOOO ... what has Eichel done in Buffalo to show that he's a winner? Hawks should keep their picks, keep Dach and Boqvist. Stay the path, don't need another $10,000,000 cap hit. They will have too much tied up into Kane, Toews, Seabrook, Keith and Eichel.

Honestly, eichel being or not being a winner has nothing to do with it. Eichel isn’t the reason Buffalo isn’t winning, in fact, he’s been elite despite the franchise being a joke. He’s unequivocally the better player and he would absolutely make the team better. I completely agree with staying the course and building through the draft, but there’s no scenario where Dach or boqvist become better players than eichel. This just makes the team that much better. Especially with seabrook retired now and toews’ condition is actually looking more long term and permanent than expected.

If this is all it costs to get eichel, yes please. Dach and boqvist aren’t winners either. Eichel is at least elite on a **** team.
